The course combines online study with practical work placements, where you will gain first-hand industry experience and learn how to manage your own practice. Work Placement and Workshops Work Placement To successfully complete this qualification students will participate in a Work Placement of up to 200 hours within a naturopathic clinic environment. During their Work Placement students will need to perform practical tasks to industry standard, and with a range of clients. Ivy can assist students with finding a suitable work placement to satisfy this essential component of the course. What if I can t find a suitable work placement? If you are unable to access a work placement you will be required to practice, demonstrate and apply the required skills and knowledge at Ivy College workshops, utilising a simulated or real naturopathic clinic environment and supervised by your trainer. Workshops Our unique blended learning model offers the ultimate flexibility. Study online at your own pace, supported by your trainer, then attend quarterly workshops at one of our training locations in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne or Perth. At the workshops you will : receive practical training on essential components of this course develop and demonstrate the skills required of a qualified naturopath complete the First Aid subject, and access personal support from your trainer. Whilst the workshops are not mandatory for those students with an approved work placement, it is highly recommended that all students attend the quarterly workshops. For anyone unable to secure a work placement, workshop attendance is mandatory. Workshop dates and locations are subject to change and minimum numbers. Entry Requirements To enrol this course you will need to have one of the following; Australian Year 12 or equivalent; or a Certificate IV; or during the enrolment process be able to demonstrate that you have the skills and capability to succeed in the course. All students are also required to have a unique email address. The RPL application process requires you to provide evidence of, or demonstrate, your current ability to perform the requirements of a subject(s) within your course. Qualifications and VET Statements of Attainments issued by another Registered Training Organisation will be recognised by Ivy College via our Mutual Recognition process. You will be asked if you would like to apply for RPL or Mutual Recognition on the enrolment form.
