Today it s been elevated to 7 departments and has an enrolment of around 1300 students from diverse backgrounds and communities. The department offers a variety of courses that caters to the varying needs of students. The programmes aim at the pursuit of academic excellence, personality development, leadership training and creativity in the students, for making effective professionals in the ever changing business scenario. The teaching- learning environment is enhanced by the use of technology (TEL Technology Enhanced Learning) and every effort is made to orient the students either to higher education, employment or entrepreneurship. B.Com Finance and Taxation (2 Batches) 2 B.Com Computer Application(2 Batches 3. B.Com Marketing 4. B.Com Tourism and Travel Management 5. Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) These are three-year full time Degree Programmes with six semesters. These Programmes are Choice Based Course Credit Semester System (CBCCSS). These courses are designed to provide the students with a wide range of managerial skills and competence in special areas. Admission Procedures: The college administration strictly follows the admission schedule as suggested by the Mahatma Gandhi University from time to time. The admission norms prescribed by the government and university are fully complied with. Distribution of seats As per the existing norms, 50% of the total seats are in general merit (by CAP of MG University), 50% of the total seats are filled through the management quota.
Eligibility for admission Any candidate who has passed the plus two the Higher Secondary Board Kerala, Pre-Degree of Mahatma Gandhi University or that of any other University in any state recognized as equivalent to the Plus Two of the Higher Secondary Board in Kerala, with not less than 45% of marks in aggregate, is eligible for admission. B.Com Computer Application (Sanctioned strength - 100 seats ) The curriculum of this Programme has been specially crafted to help students to get theoretical as well as practical knowledge regarding Information Technology for business and office, Tally and Data Base Management Systems (DBMS) which are inevitable for the new generation. In addition to this, the Programme enables the students for developing managerial skills and taking rational decisions. The courses are same as B.Com- Model I Finance & Taxation except for the CORE OPTIONS of Computer Application. CORE OPTIONS 1. Information Technology for Business I 2. B.Com Marketing (Sanctioned strength - 40 seats) Worldwide, the concept of marketing is undergoing a sea change where it has been visualized as an educational process, rather a mere organisational function of firms in a market place, The department motivates students to explore the fortunes by invoking the scope of this new approach in marketing.
