3. Accurate Computer based marking ensures impartial, accurate marks. Institutions can trust the English ability of students. Introducing PTE Academic 9

Accurate The purpose of assessment is to precisely capture a test taker's true level of ability. PTE Academic is the most accurate test of academic English with the smallest Standard Error of Measurement (SEM). Each test uses a different reporting scale with only IELTS using bands that are less precise than a numerical scale. Within a single IELTS half band there can be up to seven PTE Academic score points. Introducing PTE Academic 10

4. Relevant & Objective Uses genuine academic content and integrated tasks testing multiple skills. Reflects the use of language students need. Introducing PTE Academic 11

Relevant & Objective Assessments should provide test takers with the confidence to succeed. Genuine academic content so your students are better prepared to use English at your institution. Integrated tasks that test more than one language skill reflecting the combinations of skills students need. Including international and non-native English making the test more appropriate test for modern global universities. Introducing PTE Academic 12

Objective Assessment is not the same as judgment. Machine scoring means responses are scored objectively and consistently with no regional variances in standards. Assesses English skills in more ways than any other test so students will be more likely to cope. Where your students come from or what they look like will not impact scores - you will not miss out on good students because of unreliable scores. Treats regional accents equally.
