Excursions and activities Coventry Fact The Belgrade Theatre was Britain s first purpose-built civic theatre, opened in 1958. NMSC s Two Day Medicine Focus is for students seeking to enter the medical profession. The Focus Days are led by NMSC s Medical Co-ordinator Dr Varma, former consultant at the internationally renowned Guys and St Thomas NHS Trust. Good healthcare should be available to all, regardless of wealth. 10% of UK GDP is spent on NHS health. This highly informative and interactive course offers: Visit to Medical Simulation and Skills Centre Half-day hospital tour including interviews with specialists in their departments Surgical anatomy: plastinated prosection and Virtual Reality Anatomy Medical Schools: Lecture on how to apply, and practice preparing for UCAS statement, UKCAT and BMAT Interview Practice Note: The Two Day Focus takes place on the Wednesday, and replaces the mid-week industry visits.
Care and Accommodation Group Leaders Our Group Leaders are responsible for ensuring the safety and welfare of our students by providing full wrap-around care and supervision every day of the week. Students will be met by the Group Leaders in the morning and supervised after College until close of day. They will lead the excursions at the weekend, accompanying the students and supervising their activities. Accommodation Students will be accommodated in groups of single student rooms in one of Coventry s most centrally located Student Halls of Residence: Individual bedrooms each with en-suite bathroom (bed linen included) Access to a kitchenette for snacks 24 hour security on site Free wi-fi Boys and girls on separate floors Group Leaders in residence on each floor Travel Students will enjoy travelling to and from College in the NMSC Minibus which provides a door to door service ensuring students are safe and comfortable. The journey is a pleasant 15 minute drive. Meals On College days, breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the College dining hall, under supervision of our Group Leaders. On non-college days, students will enjoy a ready prepared breakfast and packed lunch. On return to Coventry, the Group Leaders will oversee dinner in a cheerful nearby restaurant just a short walk from the Hall of Residence and afterwards will accompany the students back to their accommodation.
