MATHEMATICS & SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIPS 2019 Applications for entry into Years 7 to 11 St Aidan s strives to provide excellence in education in a caring, friendly environment, where each individual, nurtured and shaped by the values of the Christian Faith, has the opportunity to achieve her full potential and to develop a passion for life and for learning. St Aidan s educational philosophy fosters academic excellence, co-operation, compassion and confidence. Mathematics and/or Science Scholarships offer part remission of tuition fees for students entering Years 7 to 11 in 2019 and are reviewed annually. Preference is given to those applicants who would greatly benefit from a St Aidan's education, but would be unable to attend without some financial assistance. Mathematics and/or Science Scholarships will be provided to allow students to commence at St Aidan s Anglican Girls School in Years 7 11 in 2019. Mathematics and/or Science Scholarships are not open to students currently enrolled at the School. Applicants must demonstrate: current excellence in Mathematics and/or Science strength in academic studies overall a strong capacity for involvement A shortlist of candidates will be selected on the basis of the following documents: Copies of school reports for the past two years and NAPLAN results Resume of activities and achievements over the past two years Contact details of previous teacher(s) Selected candidates will then be invited to an interview with the Principal. Scholarship Expectations The Student should: 1. Demonstrate continued effort and sustained commitment to improving academic performance. 2. Show leadership qualities appropriate to all scholarship holders. This includes being a positive role model for younger students, displaying leadership by encouraging and supporting other girls and fostering team and School spirit. This also requires the student and parents to demonstrate overt support for the values of the School both at school and outside school. 3. Show an awareness of, and appreciation for, school life and a willingness to accept the broad range of opportunities offered at St Aidan s. 4. Be committed to the School s ethos.
