For any provisionally selected candidate, increase in marks due to post-publication review/scrutiny after the closing dates of application (03.06.2018) for admissions to M.A (Day & Evening) Courses for the academic session 2018-19, shall NOT be considered, and his/her merit position shall NOT be changed. All original marksheets, certificates including SC/ST/PD/OBC-A/OBC-B certificates from competent authorities in the names of the candidates themselves, where applicable, are to be shown at the time of counselling for verification. The original madhyamik admit card/certificate (for age verification). If the provisionally selected candidate has completed his/her graduation in 2017 or before: An affidavit that he/she is not registered in any other day-course anywhere/elsewhere (click here) If the provisionally selected candidate is pursuing an MA day-course or its equivalent in another college/university: an affidavit that s/he will be deregistering from that day-course (click here) Parents/guardian's income certificate issued by the employer with office seal for the employed person and for others by a gazetted officer. IX. Date and time of counselling and admission of provisionally selected candidates: on July 17, 2018 at 10:30am. Venue: Prof. Anita Banerjee Memorial Hall (Ground Floor, U.G. Arts Building), Jadavpur University (Main Campus). X. If a candidate fails to appear on the specified date and time for counselling, the next candidate in order of merit will be considered for admission. The candidate absent on July 17, 2018, will also NOT be considered for admission against vacancy (if any) at a later date. XI. At the time of counselling/admission, all provisionally selected candidates who have completed their graduation in 2017 or before must submit an affidavit that they are not registered in any other day course anywhere/elsewhere, failing of which he/she will not be admitted. XII. The waitlisted candidates must report at 11:30am on 17/7/2018 at Prof. Anita Banerjee Memorial Hall (Ground Floor, U.G. Arts Building), Jadavpur University (Main Campus). The vacant seats, if any, will be filled up in order of merit from amongst the waitlisted candidates. Their names will be called at 11:40am. If any candidate fails to turn up the seat will be offered to the next candidate in the list. They will also be required to produce all original mark sheets and certificates. The process will continue till the vacant seats are filled up. The rest of the candidates are advised to record their attendance on 17/7/2018 at 12:30 pm at the Office of the Dean and Secretary, Faculty Council of Arts (Ground Floor, U.G. Arts Building). XIII.Classes will commence on July 18, 2018. XIV. The candidates admitted to M.A. in Philosophy course should have at least 50% attendance of total classes held during 18.07.2018 26.07.2018, failing which his/her studentship will be treated as cancelled without further reference. XV. Vacancies, if any, along with names of waitlisted candidates will be notified on the website on 03.08.2018 after 6.00 pm. Only those waitlisted candidates who were present at the time of counseling on July 17, 2018 and recorded their attendances at the Office of the Dean and Secretary, Faculty Council of Arts on the same day will be considered for admission against vacancy, if any.
Jadavpur University has accepted in principle that each and every student of the university shall be duty bound during the entire period of studentship with the university to immediately report to the Dean of Students if any ragging is noticed either in university hostel or on university campus. If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him/her from the university. Details of on-line submission of anti-ragging affidavit shall be made available by the Head, Department of Philosophy, at the time of counselling.
