We have had a great start to our school year so far. This month we have some opportunities for you to come visit with us at school. Teachers will hold conferences during the week of October 22. In addition to your child s classroom teacher, I would encourage you to speak with all of the teachers your child works with: Special educators, Reading Interventionists, PE, Music, Art, and the Media specialists. On Thursday, October 25, Irving will host a Trunk or Treat with our community partner, Living Stone Communities. Irving s Attendance Rate Irving s attendance rate for August and September was 95%. We understand that students get sick, but our goal is to increase student achievement. We have many engaging and exciting activities planned to help students learn and count on parents/guardians to make sure students get to school on time. If you need support in getting your student to school on time, please contact the school so we can work together to provide assistance. Sincerely, Ms. Lambert

Please Call the Office to Report: Student absences for any reason. Changes in after-school plans. Did You Know? Mustang Café October 12, 2018 is National Apple Crunch day! At a pre-determined time, the café will provide every adult and child an apple slice and we will all take a bite! Nurse s Corner Box Tops From the Nurse's Office: Fall is in full swing and we are working hard to keep our classrooms healthy and ready to learn! With the change in weather, we often see an increase in contagious illnesses. Remember to review school health policies for guidance regarding when it is best to keep your child home and when it is the right time for your child to return. Please remember an adult must bring in all school medications. A doctor's order is required for medication administration while at school. For the safety of our students, please do not send medications in your child's backpack. Starting in October our annual vision and hearing screenings will take place as required by the state of Illinois. If you have any questions regarding these screenings, please feel free to contact me. Thanks, Nurse Andrea Picture Day Picture retakes will be on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. Remember to wear your smiles that day! Figure 6 Box Tops Logo If you have box tops please send them to school with your student. Box tops are an easy way for the school to earn extra money!
