POSITION PROFILE DEAN OF ACADEMIC AFFAIRS 1 As Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University s (KCAD s) chief academic officer, the Dean of Academic Affairs is charged with overall responsibility for the vision, accomplishments, and success of the College s academic programs and reports directly to the President of KCAD. The Dean of Academic Affairs joins the College s senior leadership team and is responsible for collaborating with faculty, students, staff and others to create a unified vision for KCAD s academic programs and for providing strategic leadership to advance the overall quality, reputation, stature, and aspirational goals of the College. The Dean is an experienced leader with a deep commitment to diversity and inclusion within the institution and in relationship to the urban community of Grand Rapids. 1. POSITION PROFILE DEAN OF ACADEMIC AFFAIRS KENDALL COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN KCAD was established in 1928 by Helen Miller Kendall, the wife of David Wollcott Kendall, a nationally known furniture designer. KCAD s more than 1,200 students are a blend of dynamic personalities that form a vibrant community with a passion for all things creative.
