1. Regulations: The following are the regulations for admission to MDS courses for the academic session 2016-17 And shall apply to the Dental Colleges affiliated to the Dharmsinh Desai University. (Hereinafter, referred to as The University) 2. Dharmsinh Desai University: Dharmsinh Desai Institute of Technology (DDIT) was established in 1968 by Late Shri Dharmsinh Desai, (an Educationist, Social worker and Member of Parliament). The institute in recognition of its commendable standards of academic administration was granted Autonomy by the Government of Gujarat, AICTE and UGC in June, 1991. In continuation to the autonomous status, University Grants Commission has conferred DDIT with Deemed University status from the year 2000. Finally, in April 2005 DDIT got status of State University. The World Bank has allocated a grant for the development of Technical Education, Infrastructure, Library and Laboratory and beginning of new courses. ISO 9001:2008 Certified University first in India. NAAC accredited University. 3. Faculty of Dental Science: VISION & MISSION, Statements, and Goals are clearly outlined; These are translated into actions and communicated to all departments and each stakeholder; Dean: Proactive, Easily Approachable, Learning Centric, Decentralized, Transparent and Open to Suggestions & Change; Focus on Training & Development of employees; Strict adherence to Academic Calendar One of the highest OPD amongst Dental colleges in Gujarat. 4. 5. DURATION OF MDS COURSES: The period of training for obtaining MDS degree shall be three years including the Period of examination. 6. ELIGIBILITY: 6.1 The applicant for admission to the Post Graduate Degree in Dental Surgery must have a B.D.S. Degree (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) of Indian University established or incorporated by or under Section 10(2) of the Dentist Act, 1948 or an equivalent qualification recognized by Dental Council of India & Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. Of India and must have permanent registration with any State Dental Council. 6.2 A candidate who has completed nine months of internship at the time of applying for entrance exam shall submit a certificate from the Dean of college regarding completion of eight months of internship (The certificate should mention date of completion of internship) along with the application. 6.3 Applicant not possessing a recognized Dental Qualification for the above purpose should secure the prior approval of his qualifications by the Dental Council of India & Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. Of India before he can be admitted to the MDS course. 6.4 Applicant possessing a foreign Dental Qualification should secure the prior approval of his qualifications by the Dental Council of India & Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. Of India before he can be admitted to the MDS course. NOTE: The College from where the candidate has passed BDS must be a recognized college By the Dental Council of India & Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. Of India. 6.5 The students who are already admitted and studying MDS course are not eligible to appear for MDS Entrance test until they complete the course or discontinue the course by remitting the Bond amount / Course fees before submitting the application and such candidates shall enclose the discontinuance certificate issued by the Principal to that effect along with the application form. 7. Application for Entrance Test: 7.1 The application form will be available from the college office from 10/02/2016 to 29/02/2016 during 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. The application form also will be available on the University website www.ddu.ac.in 7.2 The candidate should paste a recent passport size photograph in the space provided in application form. 7.3 The candidate should enclose the attested copies of required certificates, along with application form in support of his/her claim. 7.4 The candidate should sign at the declaration area in the application form without fail. 7.5 LAST DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF FILLED-IN APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION IS Latest by 1.30 P.M. ON 01/03/2016. 7.6.1 The candidate should submit the filled-in application along with the attested copies of required certificates and the fees towards the registration in person or by post to be received on or before 1.30 PM on 01/03/2016. 7.6.2 Application forms received without copies of the required certificates/ Registration Fee/ incomplete applications/ applications received after last date and time will stand automatically rejected. Application forms of ineligible candidates will be summarily rejected. Note. 1 : The candidature of the applicant will not be considered for MDS Entrance Test - 2015 unless the application form is submitted to the University along with the requisite enclosures on or before the last date and time. 2 :. If the candidate could not receive the hall ticket during the scheduled notified time, represent to university office in person giving the particulars of name of the candidate, application No., Registration No., Particulars of fee payment and nature of difficulty before 11/03/2016. No other mode of representation will be considered.

8. ENTRANCE TEST: 8.1 The Entrance Test shall be objective type containing 200 multiple choice questions to be Answer in 3 hours duration. The questions will be single answer objective type. Each question with correct answer shall be awarded one mark. Zero mark will be given for the questions not answered, wrong answer and more than one answer. No Negative Marking will be done. 8.2 The test will be conducted on 13/03/2016 (Sunday) from 10.00 A.M. to 01.00 P.M. at the University. 8.2.1 All the eligible candidates shall appear for Entrance Test and shall qualify themselves therein to be eligible for admission into Post Graduate courses. 8.2.2 The Syllabus of the test shall be that of the BDS course Suggested by Dental Council of India & Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. Of India & Ministry of Health, Govt. Of India. 8.2.3 A minimum of 50% is required by each candidate to become eligible for inclusion in Merit List and Admission. 8.3 UNFAIR MEANS IN THE ENTRANCE TEST: 8.3.1. Hall Ticket is not transferable. The Hall Ticket shall not be tampered. 8.3.2. A person shall not impersonate a candidate. 8.3.3. Candidates should not bring Calculators, Pagers, Cell Phones, Computers or any other electronic gadget whether it is concerned with the examination or not except the Hall Ticket. 8.3.4. Candidate should not possess papers, books or notes or written notes on his clothes, body or table or chair, which is relevant to the examination. 8.3.5. Candidate should not talk to another candidate or person inside or outside the examination hall without permission even after a warning by the invigilating staff. 8.3.6. Candidate should not show his / her answer book to another candidate or if he / she shall not receive, attempts to receive help from any source, including consulting books, notes or papers or any other matter outside the exam hall or has given help or attempted to give help. 8.3.7. No candidate will be allowed to leave the examination hall before completion of 1 hour (one hour) after commencement of the examination. Before leaving, the candidates must return to the invigilator both the question paper booklet and the answer sheet. 8.3.8. On completion of answering the questions, he / she should seek the permission of the invigilator and leave the hall, only after handing over the question paper booklet and answer sheet to the invigilator. 8.4 Violation of any one or all of the above instructions will be considered as Malpractice. 8.4.1. Any candidate resorting to malpractice in the entrance examination will have his / her examination invalidated and will be disqualified from appearing for MDS Entrance examination for the next 3 years. 8.4.2. If a person impersonates a candidate, he / she will be disqualified from appearing for any Entrance examination for five years and if he/she is not on university rolls, will not be admitted to any course for five years and the criminal case will be lodged against him/her in the police station, the candidate who is impersonated also will be disqualified for 5 years. 8.4.3. Any items such as Calculators, Pagers, Cell Phones, Computers, Bluetooth or any other electronic gadget found with candidate will be seized and will not be returned. 9. MERIT LIST: 9.1 In case of equality of marks in the Entrance Test, the total percentage of marks in B.D.S. up to two decimal places shall be taken into consideration for fixing the merit of the candidates. If the Entrance Test marks and BDS marks are equal, marks obtained in the concerned subject shall be taken into consideration if the candidates opt for the same subject. In the last tie break, older candidate will be favored.

10. ADMISSION PROCEDURE (SELECTIONS AND COUNSELING): 10.1 Provisional selections shall be made by the Selection Committee constituted by the University based on merit in the Entrance Test, subject to these regulations. 10.2 The date of selections for MDS Courses shall be intimated to an individual by a call later as per Merit List. 10.3 The selection will be only from among the candidates who physically present themselves when their Hall Ticket numbers are called out, in order of merit. 10.4 Claims of the candidates will not be considered, if they are found absent when called at the time of selection. If a candidate on merit is absent for selection when he / she is called, the next in merit would be selected. The selected candidates shall submit their original certificates to the Selection Committee. The candidates can submit the prescribed bond and pay the fee on or before the date fixed by the Selection Committee. Candidates who opt for a subject and do not join the course by not paying the fee or after paying the fee fail to submit the bond, his/her selection stands cancelled automatically and are not eligible to be considered for subsequent selection in the vacancies in the same academic year. 10.5 The selected candidates have to pay the fees payable to the University within 3 days of counseling and submit the original certificates, Bond, and other documents latest by 26/05/2016 to the College. 10.6 The Selection Committee shall have power to review the selection in case of any errors, misrepresentation or glaring injustice and cancel the selection / admission. In all matters relating to selection and admissions, the decision of the Selection Committee shall be final and binding on the candidates and selections cannot be questioned after admissions are closed. 11. ADMISSION RULES: 11.1.1 All candidates selected to MDS courses should execute the bond on non-judicial stamp paper of the value of Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only) to ensure completion of the prescribed period of training. 11.1.2 A candidate who is engaged (at the time of submission of application) in P.G Dental studies in this University is not eligible. A Candidate who in the past selected and admitted to any P.G. Dental course of this University and did not complete that course at the time of submission of application, is not eligible. A candidate who had applied earlier to this University and who was disqualified because of any reason is not eligible. 11.2 The original certificates submitted to the University shall not be returned to the candidates till they complete their course. 11.3 Attendance: Minimum 80% attendance during each academic year of the Post graduate course is necessary as per Dental Council of India & Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. Of India to appear in the examination. 11.4 Private Practice: No Post graduate shall be allowed to have any private practice or consultation and shall not accept any parttime employment in any state, central or quasi government or private organizations during their post graduation course. 11.5 College Regulations: Candidates are required to follow the rules and regulations of the college and should also abide by the regulations of the University. Under no circumstances they should have any correspondence with higher authorities directly without prior permission of the Principal. 11.6 Stipends: All seats are non-stipendary seats. 11.7 Allocation of Seats: NRI / Management Quota 50% of total MDS seats DDU BDS Graduates 25% of total MDS seats Others including DDU BDS Graduates 25% of total MDS seats

11.8 Fees: 11.8.1 Tuition Fee: All the candidates selected are required to pay the tuition fee as prescribed from time to time. The tuition fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances. (To be paid by Demand Draft / Pay Order payable at Nadiad. Per Annum 1 General Quota Seat 07,44,000/- 2 Management Quota Seat 11,12,000/- 11.9 Leave : 11.9.1 The Post graduates are eligible for 30 days leave in the academic year and they can avail maximum 10 days at a time. The balance of leave in a year if any shall not be carried forward to the next academic year. In case the absence of the candidate availing Medical Leave / Maternity Leave / Any other Leave or unauthorized absence is beyond 30 days in a year the study period of the candidate will be extended to the extent of such period. No other leave is permitted. 12. CLOSURE OF ADMISSIONS: 12.1 The admissions shall be closed on 31-05-2016. 12.2 Any vacancy on the day of closure of admissions or that arises after closure of admissions shall be filled by 03-06-2016. 13. PERIOD OF TRAINING: The duration of MDS Course is 3 Years. A candidate admitted into MDS course shall pass the examination within 4 years from the date of completion of the course. If he/she fails to pass the examination within the period specified above, he/she shall not be permitted to appear for the examination thereafter and qualify for the award of MDS Degree. 14. COMMENCEMENT OF THE COURSE: The course shall commence with effect from 26/05/2016. The duration of the course shall be calculated from the date of commencement of the course and shall be uniform for all the candidates irrespective of individual dates of admission. 15. SANCTION OF LEAVE OF ABSENCE BEYOND 3 MONTHS AND TERMINATION OF STUDENTSHIP: Every student shall attend his/her classes (Theory, Practical and Clinical) on all working days unless he/she is granted leave of absence by the Principal. If a student absents continuously for a period of 91 days or more but less than one year and seeks permission to attend the course, his / her application shall be forwarded to the Registrar, Dharmsinh Desai University with the recommendation of the Principal. If the Vice-Chancellor is satisfied of the reasons, he may grant leave of absence attaching such conditions, as he / she may deem necessary. Candidates who are absent for continuous period of one year or more without permission shall be deemed to have forfeited the admission to the course and his / her studentship shall stand cancelled without any further notice. If a candidate wants to be readmitted after one year of absence, his / her application may be forwarded to the Vice-Chancellor, which will be considered on individual basis. 16. Errors and omission exempted. Rights reserved to make any changes in this Prospectus, Application form and any other information without prior notice. 17. In any dispute the decision of the competent authority of the University shall be final & binding to all. 18. Subject to Nadiad Jurisdiction only.

ANTI RAGGING ACT Ragging is prohibited in the Educational Institutions in the state of Gujarat vide Act No.26 of 1997, dt. 21-8-1997. The Anti raging Act is placed on the Website of the University for Information. REGULATIONS ON CURBING THE MENACE OF RAGGING RAGGING is totally PROHIBITED in the University and its institutions, and anyone found guilty of ragging and/or abetting ragging, whether actively or passively, or being a part of a conspiracy to promote ragging, is liable to be punished in accordance with the Regulations framed and notified by the UGC and other Regulating Councils like MCI/DCI/AICTE, etc. as well as under the provisions of any penal law for the time being in force. Regulations for Elimination of Ragging shall be applicable not only to the University and its institutions or any part thereof, including, but not limited to, the Departments, constituent units, Colleges, Centre of Studies and all its premises, whether academic, residential, playgrounds, or canteen, whether located within the campus or outside, and in all means of transportation of students, whether public or private, accessed by students for the pursuit of their studies in such institutions. RAGGING constitutes one or more of any of the following acts: (a) any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student; (b) including in rowdy or undisciplined activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student; (c) asking any student to do any act which such student will not in the ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely effect the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student; (d) any act by a senior student that prevents, disrupts or disturbs the regular academic activity of any other student or a fresher; (e) exploiting the services of a fresher or any other student for completing the academic tasks assigned to an individual or a group of students. (f) any act of financial extortion or forcefully expenditure burden put on a fresher or any other student by students; (g) any act of physical abuse including all variants of it: sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping, forcing obscene and lewd acts, gestures, causing bodily harm or any other danger to health or person; (h) any act or abuse by spoken words, emails, post, public insults which would also include deriving perverted pleasure, vicarious or sadistic thrill from actively or passively participating in the discomfiture to fresher or any other student; (i) any act that affects the mental health and self-confidence of a fresher or any other student - With or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES 1. Hall Ticket issued to you is an important document. Please preserve it carefully until the admissions are closed. 2. Hall Ticket is not transferable. Any tampering of hall ticket will automatically lead to the disqualification of the candidate. 3. Candidate shall arrive at the examination hall at least half an hour before commencement of the examination. This will enable the candidate to familiarize herself with the response sheet. 4.
