Section B (20 marks) Read the following newspaper story and answer all the questions. BOY SPENDS STORMY NIGHT IN WILD WOOD On Wednesday afternoon, Liam Sullivan, eight years old, arrived at Bridge Reeve Camp in Devon in the UK to stay for a short study holiday with seven other children. There were five adults in charge of them. On Thursday morning at 10 o clock they told the children to go and play a fifteen-minute hiding game called hide-and-seek. Liam, who was wearing long trousers, a longsleeved top and boots, went off into the forest to hide. By 10.15, all the children except Liam had been found again. Three hours later, Liam was still missing. His parents were told, and a huge hunt began. Police with dogs searched the forest. A police helicopter flew over the area again and again. Teams of local people went into the forest to help with the search. In the evening, they made a terrible discovery. Liam s boots were found floating down a river. Darkness came, and the search had to stop. That night, strong winds blew up and 25mm of rain fell. The temperature dropped to 10C. Next morning the hunt began again at first light. The helicopter and police dogs still had no luck. Finally, at 12.15pm, a team of local people spotted the boy. He was lying under a tree, cold, wet and asleep. Amazed he was still alive, they woke him up and put him in a warm blanket. At first he was confused but he soon started talking. He had fallen in the river and lost his boots while climbing out again. He had heard the police helicopter but he thought it was looking for burglars. He had liked seeing bats and deer in the night. After 26 hours alone in the forest he was very cold but unhurt.
