A good First Degree Honours in Education with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division. ii. A good First Degree Honours in other disciplines with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division plus Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from a recognized University obtained at credit level. iii. Third Class Honours degree in Education with a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Technology (Minimum of 60%) also acceptable for admission into M.Ed. Educational Technology programme only. 2. For the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) Programmes A Bachelor s degree of any recognised University with a minimum of Third Class Honours is required. Higher National Diploma holders of recognised Polytechnics who obtain at least an Upper Credit classification in Higher National Diploma Certificate are also qualified. 3. For Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Technology (PGDET) a.) A Bachelor of Education Degree (B.Ed.; B.A. (Ed.), B.Sc. (Ed.), B.Tech. (Ed.) with a minimum of Third Class Honours, from the University of Ilorin or an equivalent Degree as approved by Senate; or b.) A Bachelor Degree (B.A., B.Sc., B.Tech., etc.) in a teaching subject with a minimum of Third Class Honours and completed professional Postgraduate Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) as approved by Senate or its representative. 2

(a) NCE in Physical & Health Education, Home Economics, Science Education and Integrated Science. (b) Two A/L Passes to include Biology. (c) Any accredited Diploma in Nursing & Midwifery, Health Management, Social Work, Health Technology and Health Administration, Environmental Health, Health Records/Health Information Management and other Diplomas in Health related fields. (a) NCE in Physical & Health Education/ Agricultural Science/Science Education. (b) Two A/L passes or equivalent in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Government and CRS/IRS. UTME Entrants: SSCE/WAEC/NECO/NABTEB with five credits passes in English Language and Mathematics plus three other related subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer, Technical Drawing, Electronics, Auto-Mechanics, Basic Electricity, Metalwork, Woodwork, Building Construction, etc) or English Language, Mathematics and any other three of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer, Technical Drawing, Electrical/ Electronic Auto-Mechanics, Applied Electricity, Metalwork and Woodwork. Credits in English Language, Mathematics and in the minor subject, and any other two O/Level subjects selected Arts and Social Science Subjects. Credits in English Language, Mathematics and in the minor subject, and any other two O/Level subjects selected Science or Technical Subjects. 5. For Sub-Degree Diploma Programmes a. Human Kinetics and Health Education At least 5 Credit passes at SSCE/GCE/NTC/NBT or equivalents, including English Language, at not more than two sittings. b. (i) Photography; (ii) Instructional Radio and Television Production; and (iii) Creative Arts Candidates must have a minimum of three passes at credit level in any Science, Social Sciences and Vocational subjects which must include English Language. However, candidates willing to proceed to the degree level must possess the prerequisite five O level passes at credit level for relevant programmes. c. Arabic Education (i) WASC/GCE/TCII/ Higher Islamic Studies Certificate (HISC) Senior Secondary School Certificate with credit/merit in at least four subjects- one of which must be Arabic. (ii) Diploma in the teaching of Arabic or Islamic Studies of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. However, candidates willing to proceed to the degree level must possess the pre-requisite five O level passes at credit level for relevant programmes.
