We are thankful for the support of our families to get students here on time every day. We hope that you have been able to take advantage of one of the three opportunities to come in for a teacher conference this year. Our teachers have truly enjoyed the chances to connect with parents and learn even more about their students. As we March into Spring, please consider reviewing the following things at school: Are my emergency contacts up to date? We are not permitted to release a student to a person not listed as one of your emergency contacts. Have I notified the school of a change of address or telephone #? It is important for us to be able to reach you in case of an emergency. *Also, please be aware that every person entering the building needs to state their name, student name and reason for visit before they are allowed to enter the building. Please do NOT hold the door open for anyone! The 5 th grade Maryland Integrated Science Assessment (MISA) will be on March 5, 6, 8, and 9 from 10:15-11:30. Please refrain from making routine checkup appointments on these days/times. Remember to join the PTA for purse BINGO fundraiser on March 18 th! A Connect Ed message will be coming soon with details. Thank you for all that you do! We appreciate you being partners with us as we work together for the academic and social growth of every student. Enjoy the Spring Break with your families and friends. Sincerely, Lisa Koennel 1

Dear Richard Henry Lee Parents and Students: This year our Talent Show will be on Thursday, April 19 th at 7:00 P.M. All auditions will be held after school on Monday, March 12 th from 3:30 pm until approximately 5:00 pm. There will be no make-up auditions. Students who wish to audition must follow these requirements: Must be in 3rd 5 th Grade at Richard Henry Lee. Performance Ready - Have everything they will need for the actual performance. I will have a CD player or I can connect to a phone/ device if you have the song downloaded. It will count against the students audition score if they do not come with everything they need on the day of the audition. If a student plans to sing, they MUST have practiced with a karaoke version and be prepared to sing with the karaoke version at auditions. Students may audition for only one act. Only 20 acts will be chosen to perform in the show. Students must bring back this permission slip that includes the title of their act (could be the name of the song) and the names of all students who are in this act. If it is a group of students, all students must turn in their permission slip in order to be allowed to audition with the group. If the act has song lyrics (solo/group singing, tumbling routine, dance to recorded music, etc.) a copy of the lyrics must be attached so that we can make sure the lyrics are clean and appropriate for school. No parents, siblings, or other relatives will be permitted to stay in the room for auditions or rehearsals. Each student/group will have five minutes max. Acts do not have to be limited to music. In the past we have had gymnastics, cheer, vocal and instrumental acts, dance routines, magic shows, and the list goes on!
