Second: Steve Haaff 2018-132 SUPERINTENDENT S REPORT August 1, 2018 School Shooting Drill / SRO Officer 1 st Day of School August 2, 2018 and the last day of school is May 10, 2019. First Home Football Game will be August 17 th @ 7:00 PM Permission was granted at the July 16, 2018 board meeting to hire the following positions prior to the August 2018 Board Meeting: High School Special Needs Aide Rachel Jaggers working 6 hours a day at a rate of $12.58. Middle School Special Needs Teacher Laura Payne with a contracted amount of $36,500.00. Rockport Elementary Principal Rick Hunt with a contracted amount of $78,000.00 working 206 days. Rockport Elementary Special Needs Teacher David Kruse with a contracted amount of $50,000.00. Rockport Elementary Kindergarten Teacher Lori Austin with a contracted amount of $38,000.00. Board Call Around Accepted the resignation of Lori Hermann as Principal at Luce Elementary and grant permission to post and hire. Vote: 4-1 Approved to employ Cheri Adams as the Principal at Luce Elementary with a contracted rate of $77,000.00 working 206 days. Vote: 3-2 Approved to employ Ashley Schroer as a Kindergarten Teacher at Rockport Elementary with a contracted amount of $38,000.00. 2018-133 PRESENTATIONS 2018-134 CONSENT ITEMS 1. Approved the payroll claim dockets & checks numbered 13183-13247. 2. Approved the Treasurers financial report. 3

3. Accepted the following resignation; Dakota Risse as the Middle School Track Coach effective July 26, 2018, and post the position. Denise Hurt as the High School Student Council Sponsor, effective immediately. 4. Approved the intermittent FMLA request from Jennifer Douglas to commence on August 8, 2018 until approximately August 22, 2018. 5. Approved the transportation and overnight stay request from David Taylor for the FFA to attend the PLT Conference in Trafalgar, IN on August 25 th and August 26 th, 2018. 6. Granted permission to South Spencer Middle School to spend $294.00 from interest income monies to pay for an institutional memberships to Indiana Association of School Principals for the 2018-2019 school year. 2018-135 OLD BUSINESS OF THE BOARD 1. Amended the approval of the 2018 Summer Band Woodwind & Visual assistant from the April 9, 2018 Board meeting to reflect Tia Crouse with a stipend of $500.00. 2018-136 ADMINISTRATIVE RECOMMENDATIONS PERSONNEL RECOMMENDATIONS 1. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approved to employ Letitia Lindsey as a cook at South Spencer Middle School working 5.5 hours a day at a rate of $12.01, effective August 13, 2018. 2. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approved to employ Amanda Basham as a part time cook at Rockport Elementary working 2.5 hours a day at a rate of $8.50, effective August 13, 2018. 3. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approved to employ Roberta Lambert as a part time cook at South Spencer High School working 3 hours a day at a rate of $8.50, effective August 13, 2018. Second: Barbara Tuley 4

Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approved to employ Melissa Raaff as the Middle School Cross Country Coach, with an ECA contract amount of $1,185.00 effective with the 2018-2019 season. Second: Barbara Tuley 5. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approved to employ Nina Deaton as a Middle/High School Activities Director, with an ECA contract amount of $1,274.00, effective with the 2018-2019 school year. 6. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approved to employ Sara Weinzapfel as High School BETA Club Sponsor, with an ECA contracted amount of $1,256.00 at South Spencer High School, effective with the 2018-2019 school year. 7. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approved to employ Jennifer Daming as the High School Prom Sponsor, with an ECA contracted amount of $1,256.00, effective with the 2018-2019 school year. 8. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approved to employ Shelly Aull as the High School Student Council Sponsor, with an ECA contracted amount of $1,256.00, effective with the 2018-2019 school year. 9. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approved to employ Clifton Seaton as the Middle School 7 th Grade Volleyball Coach, with an ECA contracted amount of $1,593.00, effective with the 2018-2019 school year. 10. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approved to employ Shawn Tooley as a 10 month custodian at South Spencer High School working 201 days, 8 hours a day, at a rate of $13.20, upon the return of a clear background check. Second: Steve Haaff 5

Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approved to employ Rhonda Garrett as High School Assistant Volleyball Coach, with an ECA contracted amount of $1,844.00, effective with the 2018-2019 season. 12. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approved to post and hire a Special Needs Aide at Rockport Elementary. Second: Barbara Tuley 2018-137 NEW BUSINESS OF THE BOARD 1. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approved to grant permission to advertise the 2019 school budget, capital projects fund plan and school bus replacement plan. 2. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approved the revised South Spencer School Corporation Classified Employee Handbook as presented. 2018-138 INFORMATIN ITEMS These were written reports to the Board. 1. There will be a Public Hearing of the Proposed Final Budget at 5:30 PM before the regular scheduled meeting. 2018-142 ADJOURNMENT Time: 8:39 pm 6
