RIVERSIDE TOWNSHIP BOARD OF EDUCATION REGULAR MEETING July 10, 2014 The Regular Meeting of the Riverside Township Board of Education was held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 7:00 p.m., in the Board Conference Room. Present were: Absent were: J. D Agostino, D. Graf, M. Holak, B. Knaub, A. Lobley, D. Potts, D. Reale, J. Lennon and R. Ehrich T. McElroy, R. Russell, and C. Wagstaff Mrs. Graff led the flag salute. Mrs. Lennon announced that adequate notice of the meeting had been given to the public by notifying the Burlington County Times and the Courier Post on January 4, 2014 and posted at the Riverside Town Hall. CORRESPONDENCE NJSBA School Board Notes dated June 20, 2014 Thank you note from Jada Kemp Thank you note from Tim Rottinger On the motion by Mr. Potts, seconded by Mr. D Agostino, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby approves the acceptance and filing of the above correspondence. The meeting was opened to the public for agenda items only - No one spoke at this time. GOOD NEWS Mrs. Milch reported that Vasco Lopes, a 2002 Riverside High School graduate, was featured on the Katie Couric show as an expert in child psychology. Vasco received his undergraduate degree and his doctorate from St. John University. He is a psychologist at the Child Mind Institute in New York City. APPROVAL OF MINUTES On the motion by Mrs. Lobley, seconded by Mrs. Graf, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby approves the minutes of a full Board Workshop Meeting and Regular Board Meeting held on June 12, 2014. APPROVAL OF FINANCIAL REPORTS On the motion by Mrs. Knaub, seconded by Mrs. Graf, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby approves the Board Secretary's Report (May 31, 2014), the Treasurer's Report (May 31, 2014), the Cafeteria Financial Report (May 31, 2014), the Student Activity Financial Report (May 31, 2014), the Athletic Council Report (May 31, 2014), and the Budget Status Report (May 31, 2014), as presented.

Page 2 APPROVAL OF BILLS On the motion by Mr. D Agostino, seconded by Mr. Potts, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby approves payment of June 27, 2014 and July 10, 2014 bills as presented. Ehrich, Superintendent, as attached.

Page 3 School Resource Officer Agreement On the motion by Mrs. Knaub, seconded by Mrs. Graf, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby approves the agreement between the Riverside Board of Education and the Riverside Township Police to provide the services of one police officer for the 2014-15 school year to be assigned to the School District to be stationed at the High School and Middle School as School Resource Officer (SRO) as attached. Football Physician Agreement On the motion by Mrs. Knaub, seconded by Mrs. Graf, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby approves the attached agreement for professional services with Cooper Health System (Cooper Bone and Joint Institute) to provide physician coverage for home football games for the 2014-2015 school year at a rate of $200 per game. PERSONNEL Resignation On the motion by Mr. D Agostino, seconded by Mrs. Graf, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby accepts the resignation from Kelly Stobie as HS Chemistry Teacher, effective July 1, 2014. Resignation On the motion by Mr. D Agostino, seconded by Mrs. Lobley, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby accepts with regrets the resignation, for the purpose of retirement, from Joanne Mongon as ES 5 th Grade Teacher, effective September 1, 2014. Mr. D Agostino thanked Ms. Mongon for her years of dedication to Riverside Public Schools. Resignation On the motion by Mr. Potts, seconded by Mrs. Lobley, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby accepts with regrets the resignation, for the purpose of retirement, from Mary Vishton as Instructional Teacher Aide-Media, effective July 1, 2014.

Page 4 Voluntary Transfer On the motion by Mrs. Graf, seconded by Mr. Potts, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby approves the voluntary transfer of Brittany Quiring from ES Instructional Aide to Instructional Aide-Media, effective September 1, 2014, as recommended by the Superintendent. Instructional Aide On the motion by Mr. Potts, seconded by Mrs. Lobley, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby approves the appointment of Alfreda Kaufmann as an Instructional Aide (Preschool) at the contract salary of $29,089 paid with 100% Preschool Aide funds for the 2014-2015 school year. Summer Coach Rescission & Appointment On the motion by Mr. D Agostino, seconded by Mrs. Lobley, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby rescinds the appointment of Carminie Cesare as Summer Weightlifting Coach and approves Daniel Harris as the Summer Weightlifting Coach at the contract salary of $1,301 for the 2014-2015 school year. Rescission On the motion by Mr. D Agostino, seconded by Mrs. Lobley, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby rescinds Michelle Albanese s request for an unpaid leave of absence on June 23, 2014. Elementary Summer School & Extended School Year Substitute Teachers/Aides On the motion by Mr. D Agostino, seconded by Mrs. Lobley, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby approves the following as substitute teachers and aides for Elementary Summer School & Extended School Year as needed. Custodian/Maintenance Michael Shinn Custodian On the motion by Mrs. Knaub, seconded by Mr. D Agostino, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby approves Jerry Carucci as a custodian effective August 13, 2014, at the contract salary of $38,161 (Step 0) prorated, for the 2014-2015 school year. ESL Teacher On the motion by Mr. D Agostino, seconded by Mr. Holak, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby approves the appointment of Olga Perez-Wilchacky as an ESL teacher effective September 1, 2014, at the contract salary of $57,650 (Step 0 + MA), for the 2014-15 school year, as recommended by the Superintendent. Salary Adjustment On the motion by Mr. D Agostino, seconded by Mr. Holak, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby approves the salary adjustment for Michelle Albanese, Elementary School Nurse, from $69,820 (step 14) to $70,820 (step 14 BA+15), for the 2014-2015 school year. Volunteers On the motion by Mr. D Agostino, seconded by Mr. Holak, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby approves the following volunteers for the 2014-2015 school year, *pending criminal history review. Page 6 Student Teacher On the motion by Mr. Potts, seconded by Mrs. Lobley, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby approves the placement of the following student teacher during the 2014-2015 school year: Student College Placement Dates/Hours John Michael Adamczyk College of NJ MS English 6-8 September-December 2014 Staff Development On the motion by Mr. Potts, seconded by Mrs. Lobley, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby approves the staff development activities for the 2014-2015 school year as attached. POLICY Second Reading On the motion by Mr. Potts, seconded by Mrs. Graf, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby approves the second reading of the attached list of new and revised policies and regulation as presented. First Reading On the motion by Mr. Potts, seconded by Mrs. Graf, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby approves the first reading of the attached list of new policies as presented. Page 7 HIB On the motion by Mrs. Lobley, seconded by Mr. Potts, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby approves the Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying report for June 2014. HIB Incidents Public Hearing On the motion by Mr. D Agostino, seconded by Mrs. Graf, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby enters into a Public Hearing for the purposes of reporting on HIB incidents, affirmed incidents of HIB and trainings and programs for the time period of January 1, 2014 June 30, 2014. Ms. Ehrich reported that Riverside Schools had eighteen investigations and thirteen confirmed cases. The district offered eight programs and provided thirteen training sessions for the staff and students. Student Handbook On the motion by Mr. D Agostino, seconded by Mr. Holak, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby approves the Student Handbook for the Elementary School for the 2014-15 school year, as submitted. Home Instruction On the motion by Mr. D Agostino, seconded by Mr. Holak, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby approves the following home instruction for the 2013-2014 school year: ID# FROM TO 161068 05/09/14 TBD Field Trips Extended School Year On the motion by Mr. D Agostino, seconded by Mr. Holak, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby approves the field trips for the Extended School Year Program from July 1, 2014 through August 12, 2014 as attached.

Page 8 Fall Sports Schedules On the motion by Mr. Potts, seconded by Mr. D Agostino, and carried unanimously, Be It Resolved that the Riverside Township Board of Education hereby approves the Fall Sports schedules as presented. It was agreed that further discussions will be held. Ms. MaryAnn Friedman, New Jersey School Board Association representative, reviewed the board s self evaluation

Page 9 with the board. The board reviewed the District s goals for 2013-2014 and the achievement of same. The board also reviewed the 2013-2014 Board goals and the achievement of same. Ms. Friedman gave a presentation on setting new goals for 2014-2015.
