Several receptions and events are planned throughout the fall semester to allow them to be introduced formally to the Shepherd Community. Please take time to introduce yourself should you see them in your travels about campus. Below is a brief bio for each new faculty member. Mr. Kevin Dartt Mr. Kevin Dartt, from Rochester, New York, has been appointed clinical faculty/3-d fabrication manager in the department of contemporary art and theater. Mr. Dartt received a master of science degree in mechanical engineering (2011) from Binghamton University, State University of New York and a master of fine art degree in sculpture (2015) from Alfred University in New York. Prior to coming to Shepherd, Mr. Dartt was a teaching assistant at Alfred University in New York and Binghamton University, State University of New York. Dr. Angela Fetty Dr. Angela Fetty, from Charles Town, West Virginia, has been appointed assistant professor of nursing education. Dr. Fetty received a bachelor of science degree in nursing (2010) from Mountain State University in Martinsburg; a master of science degree in nursing acute care pediatric nurse practitioner (2013) and a doctorate of nursing practice (2014) from the University of South Alabama in Mobile. Prior to coming to Shepherd, Dr. Fetty was pediatric nurse practitioner acute care in the pediatric intensive care unit at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.

Ms. Rachel Hally Ms. Rachel Hally, from Shepherdstown, West Virginia, has been appointed lecturer/assistant librarian. Ms. Hally received a bachelor of arts degree in political science (1997) from University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee and a master of library science degree (2007) from University of Maryland in College Park. Prior to coming to Shepherd, Ms. Hally was senior market analytics manager at ProQuest Government Information Services. Mr. Bradford Hamann Mr. Bradford Hamann, from Portales, New Mexico, has been appointed assistant professor of graphic design in the department of contemporary art and theater. Mr. Hamann received a bachelor of fine arts degree in art (1977) from Parsons School of Design in New York, New York and a master of fine arts degree in visual arts (graphic design) (2010) from Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Prior to coming to Shepherd, Mr. Hamann was an associate professor of art and chair of the department of art at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico; an adjunct instructor at the School of Communication and the Arts Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York; an adjunct instructor at Ulster County Community College in Stone Ridge, New York; an adjunct instructor in the department of Illustration at Parsons School of Design in New York, New York; and an adjunct instructor in the independent study degree program at Syracuse University in New York. Ms. Melissa Hilleary Ms. Melissa Hilleary, from Frederick, Maryland, has been appointed Career Advisor in the Teaching and Learning Center. Ms. Hilleary received a bachelor of science in psychology from Mt. St. Mary s University (2014), and a Master of Arts in College Student Development and Administration from Shepherd University (2016). Prior to coming to Shepherd University, Ms. Hilleary was an admissions advisor at Keystone Technical Institute in Harrisburg, PA. She worked as a Graduate Assistant in the Advising Assistance Center at Shepherd University and an Academic and Career Advising Assistant upon graduation from the CSDA program.

Mr. Kyle Hoy Mr. Kyle Hoy, from State College, Pennsylvania, has been appointed assistant professor of economics. Mr. Hoy received a bachelor of art degree in economics (2012) from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania and has successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation in Agricultural, Environmental and Regional Economics at The Pennsylvania State University (2017). Dr. Lois Jarman Dr. Lois Jarman, from Knoxville, Maryland, has been appointed clinical faculty/director of the intensive English language program. Dr. Jarman received a bachelor of art degree in French and political science (1982) from Goucher College in Towson, Maryland; a master of art degree in humanities (2006) from Hood College in Frederick, Maryland; and a doctor of professional studies degree in organization leadership/second language acquisition (2011) from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. Prior to coming to Shepherd, Dr. Jarman was an adjunct faculty member teaching French, Spanish, English composition, education, and history at Frederick Community College in Maryland, Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, and Shepherd University. In 2016 she became director, intensive English language program at Shepherd. Mr. Alex Jones Mr. Alex Jones, from Annapolis, Maryland, has been appointed Lecturer/Head Men s Soccer Coach / Head Strength-Conditioning Coach. Mr. Jones received a bachelor of science degree in recreation with a concentration in fitness/exercise science from Shepherd University (2011); a master s in exercise science with a concentration in performance enhancement and injury prevention from University of California, Pennsylvania (2017). Prior to his appointment Mr. Jones served as the strength and conditioning coach for the Multiple Athletic program at Shepherd University and the Men s Assistant Soccer coach. He has also worked as the strength and conditioning/assistant soccer coach at Fairfax High School.

Ms. Marissa Leslie Ms. Marissa Leslie, from Claysburg, PA, has been appointed Lecturer/Head Softball Coach. Ms. Leslie received a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (2012), and a Master of Science in Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention (2014) from California University of Pennsylvania. Prior to coming to Shepherd, Ms. Leslie was the Assistant Coach at West Virginia Wesleyan College from 2014-2017, and the Admission s Athletic Recruiting Coordinator. Dr. Michael Lynch Dr. Michael Lynch, from Amherst, New Hampshire, has been appointed assistant professor of business administration. Dr. Lynch received a bachelor of science degree in management (1979) from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York; a master of business administration degree (1981) from Babson College in Babson Park, Massachusetts; an ALM degree in finance (2012) from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts; and a doctor of education degree in higher education administration (2016) from New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire. Prior to coming to Shepherd, Dr. Lynch was an assistant professor in the business administration department at Colby-Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire. Mr. Jason Miller Mr. Jason Miller, from Frederick, Maryland, has been appointed Visiting Assistant Professor of Computer Information Science. Mr. Miller received a bachelor s degree in mathematics and computer science from New York University (1984) and a master s degree in biotechnology/computational biology from the University of Pennsylvania (2000). Prior to coming to Shepherd, Mr. Miller worked as an Assistant Professor in the Informatics Department at J. Craig Venter Institute from 2010-2017 and a software manager from 2004 to 2010. Jason Rafe Miller has expertise in the development of bioinformatics software for processing DNA sequencing data. He contributed to the Celera Assembler family of genome assembly software programs (CA, CAbog, AlpaCA, and CAnu) and to the publications of many animal and plant genome studies.

Dr. Elizabeth Perego Dr. Elizabeth Perego, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has been appointed assistant professor of history. Dr. Perego received a bachelor of art degree in history and French (2008) from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana: a master of art degree in african, middle eastern, and gender history (2012) and a doctor of philosophy degree in history (2017) from The Ohio State University in Columbus. Prior to coming to Shepherd, Dr. Perego was an instructor at The Ohio State University. Ms. Tajmarie Rowe Ms. Tajmarie Rowe has been appointed the Academic Retention Specialist, Trio Student Support Services. Ms. Rowe has a bachelor of science in business administration from University of Mary Washington, Virginia (2014) and a master of business administration from Shepherd University (2017). Prior to her current appointment, Ms. Rowe was a senior administrative assistant at Shepherd University. Dr. Janine Scott Dr. Janine Scott, from Katy, Texas, has been appointed assistant professor of business administration. Dr. Scott received a bachelor of business administration degree in finance (2007) from The University of Texas at Austin and a doctor of philosophy degree in financial planning (2013) from Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Prior to coming to Shepherd, Dr. Scott was an adjunct finance professor at Prairie view A&M University in Texas and a senior lecturer and director, financial planning at Massey University in Palmerston North, New Zealand.. Mr. Scott Seslar Mr. Scott Seslar, from Davenport, Florida, has been appointed Visiting Assistant Professor of Accounting. Mr. Seslar received a bachelor of science in business administration with a major in accounting from Wayne State University (1990); a master of science degree in taxation from Walsh College, Michigan (1996) and is a licensed CPA in the state of Michigan. Prior to coming to Shepherd, Mr. Seslar a full-time accounting professor the past eight years. The past seven years were spent teaching at Warner University in Lake Wales, Fl. Mr.

Seslar has taught in both the undergraduate and graduate programs. Prior to Warner University, he spent one year at Lamar Community College in very rural Lamar, Co. In addition, he practiced part-time as a CPA while employed at both of those schools. Prior to teaching, Mr. Seslar was a practicing CPA for about 20 years with his own small practice in Northville, MI. Dr. John Steffen Dr. John Steffen from Erie, Pennsylvania, has been appointed assistant professor of biology. Dr. Steffen received a bachelor of science degree in biology (1989) from Ohio University in Athens; a master s of science degree in biological sciences (2001) from Western Washington University in Bellingham; and a doctor of philosophy degree in biological sciences (2007) from Auburn University in Alabama. Prior to coming to Shepherd Dr. Steffen was an assistant professor at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College in Pennsylvania.
