STELLA MARIS PARISH SCHOOL NEWSLETTER Term 4 Week 7 30 November 2017 Coming Events: Friday, 1 December Induction Morning Tuesday, 5 December Year 5 Graduation Liturgy & Play 7pm Tuesday, 12 December End of Year Mass 6pm Thursday, 14 December Picnic In The Park Last Day of Term Assembly to farewell year 5s when we return from the park Monday, 29 January 2018 First Day of Term 1 From the Principal Dear parents and caregivers, Sport Assembly Today s assembly recognised the efforts of our students in their sporting endeavours throughout the year. We have historically had an extremely vibrant out of hours sports programme thanks to the enthusiasm of our students. A strong school sport programme is reliant upon committed students and their families. With the lure of club sport affecting numbers in some sports, I would ask you to always consider your child s participation in school sport to ensure the programmes continue into the future. Congratulations to our Sport Co-ordinator, Kym Hill, on another great year of Stella Maris sport. End of Year Mass and Community BBQ Our End of Year Mass/Gathering is in week 9 and we have not had many replies in regard to attendance. Not knowing numbers attending is really only an issue in regard to the cooking of sausages for the BBQ. To assist with catering could you please let the office know if you are attending and will be staying for something to eat. Yard Duty Please remember that teachers in vests after school are on duty and need to be vigilant in their supervision of the yard and as a consequence can t stop for lengthy chats. Thank you. Sean s Leave Families should have received a letter regarding my leave for the last two weeks of term. I celebrate my 50 th birthday in December and have taken some leave to spend this time with my family in Hawaii. Mrs Cathy Tilley will be Principal during my absence. I will be coming in for the year 5 play next Tuesday, so you may see me around. I would like to thank all for their support and contributions throughout the year and I look forward to what promises to be an exciting year of capital development in 2018. The latest drawings are on display in the noticeboard under the verandah outside the office. A holy and happy Christmas to all. As school concludes on Thursday, December 14, OSHC will not open on Friday, December 15.
