Certificate Course in Management of Hypertension Certificate Course in Management of Hypertension (CCMH) is a joint certification program designed and implemented by the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) in collaboration with the International Society of Hypertension (ISH), Center for Chronic Disease Control (CCDC) and the British Hypertension Society (BHS). CCMH is a ten month course with once- a- month contact sessions, being conducted on a designated weekend at 25 regional training centers across India. The education grant for the program has been provided by Sun pharma laboratories limited. The program includes a core team of 11 National Experts, 25 Regional Faculty and 28 Observers. The course has received an overwhelming response and over 600 primary care physicians have been enrolled for its first cycle against the initial target of 375. The program was launched on 24 th July 2016 across all its centres in India. 11 National Experts 25 Regional Raculty 612 Participants
The course has also been adopted by the National Health Mission (NHM) of a State Government in the very first cycle itself. The successful implementation of the ongoing cycle of the program prompted the Government of Madhya Pradesh (M.P.) to adopt the program for the capacity building of its medical officers working at the state s Community Health Centres (CHCs) and Primary Health Centres (PHCs). International presence: Certificate Course in Management of Hypertension (CCMH) had made its presence in the prestigious 26 th Scientific Meeting of the International Society of Hypertension held from 24 th to 29 th of September, 2016 at Seoul, Republic of Korea. A press conference to discuss the global expansion of the course was organized at Seoul which was graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. D Prabhakaran, Vice President Research and Policy - PHFI, Prof. Rhian Touyz, then President of the International Society for Hypertension, Prof. Neil Poulter, President of the International Society for Hypertension and Prof. Cheol- Ho Kim- President and Chairman of APSH and Korean Society for Hypertension. CCMH was also represented in the Global Partnerships to Advance NCD Research within the Sustainable Development Goal Agenda, Atlanta, USA where Dr. Arun P. National experts in discussion during the CCMH national expert meet held in March 2016 at New Delhi, India. The national expert meet is organized to vet and contextualize the course curriculum. Prof. Sandosh Padmanabhan, Chair of the Educational Committee, British Hypertension Society, addressed the gathering during the CCMH national expert meet.
