The skills for success at university and beyond Skillful makes it possible for EAP students to learn everything they need to learn through a carefully scaffolded, step-by-step approach that teaches the language, critical thinking and study skills (as well as the grammar and vocabulary) that students need to succeed. High-interest topics, stunning visuals and authentic Reuters video keep students engaged and motivated. Five levels. A1-C1 NEW TITLES FOR 2018 Hot off the press: World History Readers, offering options for those inclined towards nonfiction and learning more about important things that have happened around the globe for the past couple of thousand years or so. A1-B1 If the idea of some different approaches to teaching grammar worked into a thorough, one volume, multi-level, go-to grammar book (think Neo meets Marie Kondo) is appealing, Grammar Matrix is the book for you. A1-B2+ The title says it all with the new series Timed Reading for Fluency. Paul Nation is the author of this series and he uses timed readings of standard lengths so that students can track their progress throughout the course. A1-B1

Future Jobs Readers is a new nonfiction series that explored the exciting new careers of today and the near future. A1-B1 Power duo Averil Coxhead and Paul Nation have authored this three-level academic reading series, Reading for the Academic World. These books feature informative texts from a wide range of academic fields and develop vocabulary as well as reading skills. MUST- HAVE EAP NEW TITLES FOR 2018 Group work and projects, critical thinking, avoiding plagiarism, presentations and more! The Transferable Academic Skills Kit (TASK) is a flexible, culturally-inclusive learning resource that develops the academic skills that are crucial to success in post-secondary studies. A series of supported exercises relate theory to practice and provide students with the tools to develop a framework of skills that can be used in a wide range of contexts, both in school and the world of work. Web work and extension activities offer additional information and practice relating to the skills covered. B2+ Serious fun for mastering academic vocabulary! This great learning tool is a deck of 60 cards, one card for each word from sublist 1 of the Academic Word List. Each card has the target word, a definition, and word forms on one side. On the flip side, the word is contextualized in both a quote and a conversation question. Accompanying ideas, activities and worksheets are available as free downloads from our website. B1-C1

Learner autonomy, critical thinking skills, task-based learning, top-down, bottom-up and extended webbased activities. All of these features can be found in English for Academic Study, a series of 6 books to bridge students from EAP to their academic studies. B2-C1 Academic Listening & Speaking teaches naturally reduced, weak forms of spoken English, thereby improving bottom-up processing skills at the same time as top-down skills. Note-taking and summarizing skills are also developed systemically. There is a refreshing balance between the sciences, social sciences and the arts as far as the subject matter goes, making this series appropriate to use with all EAP students. (A2-B1)

Mastering Writing Contemporary Academic Writing represents a new and interesting approach to writing academic essays, providing staged support and guidance from the sentence level through to whole text. There is a strong focus on the high-frequency language and grammatical structures that are found in academic writing. The book s collaborative approach encourages students to work things out for themselves in order to deepen their understanding and enable them to use this knowledge in real-life situations. B1-B2+ 50 Steps to Improving Your Academic Writing addresses the challenges facing every student beginning a program of academic study and covers everything they need to write well-constructed academic essays. It is packed full of information that is critical to attaining better marks, including how to apply critical thinking skills, how to strengthen arguments, how to reference and how to avoid plagiarism. Multiple entry points mean that the book can be worked through unit by unit or dipped in and out of. B2+ Here is what author Dorothy E. Zemach has to say about the Macmillan Writing Series (A2-C1): This practical course takes students of all levels through the writing process: brainstorming, organizing ideas, drafting and revising, and publishing. Students at the lower levels focus on accuracy in forming sentences, organizing paragraphs, and including appropriate language. At the upper levels, students focus on different academic genres, developing their ideas in a variety of ways, and incorporating outside information to support their original ideas.

English for SPECIFIC Academic Purposes The English for Specific Academic Purposes (ESAP) series teaches discipline-specific language and skills for higher level students who are planning to begin their post-secondary education in English. Students are taught to cope with input in their particular discipline and are also expected to produce output in speech and writing throughout the course. B2-C1 Moving into English for Specific Academic Purposes caters to students at a lower language level but who still need a carefully targeted, content-driven course.
