Today we were joined by students from Pomonal Primary School. The kids had a great day working on Art projects, STEM activities and some BMX practise! Our Transition program will be starting soon. Children will receive a hat and drink bottle on their first transition day. They will not need to bring anything else with them to school. CHALAMBAR GOLF TOURNAMENT Some of our students will be attending a Golf Tournament at Chalambar Golf Club in Ararat on Monday 18th September. Selected students have been sent a permission form with further details. Natalie Sun Smartand Anthony will be attending the tournament. Classes will run as Prep-Grade 2 with Ms Hogan and Grade 3-6 with Miss Humphrey. BMX WARRNAMBOOL The school will be attending the BMX competition in Warrnambool on Saturday 23rd September (first day of school holidays). A letter with further information will be sent home next week. Anthony requires final numbers of students wishing to race by Wednesday 20th September. BLACK RANGES ATHLETICS CHANGE Some of our senior students have qualified to enter the Black Ranges Athletics carnival at North Park in Stawell. This event was to be held on Tuesday 5th September but it was cancelled due to bad weather. This event is now being held on Wednesday 20th September. This event is for students 9 years and above. A permission form and more information has been sent home to qualifying students. Parents are more than welcome to attend this event.
The MOYSTON Hall was officially re-opened last Friday morning following $480,000 worth of upgrades. Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Victoria Danielle Green joined representatives from Ararat Rural City and community members including students from Moyston Primary School for a ribbon cutting ceremony. The upgrade of Moyston Hall included a construction of a new, accessibility-compliant front access ramp, a new modern façade, accessible toilets, kitchen improvements, installation of a platform lift for stage access and interior painting. Happy 9th Birthday to Ryan!
FUNDRAISING... COMMUNITY DINNER On the 1st of September we held our latest Community Dinner. Thank you very much to Jill and all of her helpers for organising the delicious Norfolk Island Escape themed dinner. Profit from the evening was $411! Well done everyone! CLEARING SALE Yesterday the school catered a BBQ and refreshments at the clearing sale on Pat Polland's property. A huge thank you to Ross, Lydia, Adam, Jill and Kelly for running the BBQ. Thank you very much to all of the parents who kindly donated cakes and slices for us to sell. The large crowd at the clearing sale were very grateful for some hot food, drinks and sweets.
STEM AT POMONAL Last week we spent the day at Pomonal PS. During their STEM sessions, students were challenged to make the highest tower using 100 toothpicks and 2 cups of marshmallows. Students also created geodesic domes using toothpicks and jellybeans or jubes! Thank you to everyone who has already given their Earn and Learn stickers to Moyston Primary School. Please keep them coming and remind your friends and families. Every sticker counts!
RESPECTING OTHERS During our Respectful Relationships program, we will be focussing on one individual character trait per week. Weekly awards will be presented to students who demonstrate this character trait consistently. This week s awards was presented to Aiden for being tolerant. Well done Aiden! There has been lots of hard work on the Reading Eggs and Mathseeds programs at school lately. Congratulations to Summer, Cody, Karla and Dylan who all received awards recently!
