Sight in Days. Sight in Days was a success again this year with shooters shooting 600 guns with an income of about $4000.00. Thanks to Bill Zmuda and all of the volunteers that helped make this event a success. Also thank you to the members who loaned their spotting scopes to use for this event. Bill Zmuda will be setting up a day to evaluate some spotting scopes for the club to purchase to use for sighting in firearms. 2. Boy Scouts. A.We have agreed to charter the Venturing program. Venturing is another level to scouting which also includes females and is ran by the scouts. We have agreed to give them a place to meet with the understanding that they need to be reasonably self-sufficient B. The Boy Scouts also want to run a one-time per month shooting program and we have agreed to support this program by having Range Safety Officers present, providing firearms and giving them a time and place to shoot. C. The third item they inquired about was a building to store their trailer and equipment. We told them that in the future if and when we build a building we will evaluate making space available to them at that time. 3. Grounds and building. The parking lot, pistol range berm and side walls are complete. Mike Cravens will be putting a proposal together for next year s projects. These projects will include planning a 200 yard range on the current rifle range, review and plan the completion of the new range and the pistol range. We are also looking for volunteers for after the first of the year to assist or lead the remodel of the upstairs bar area. If you are looking for work hours and would like to work on this project please contact Mike Cravens. 4. Brass Collection. Earlier this year The Hudson Rod, Gun and Archery Club applied for a grant from the Wisconsin DNR, These dollars are made possible because of the Pittman, Robertson Act which taxes firearms, ammunition and other outdoor equipment. The dollar value that we sent in for the grant was $100,000.00, and we were then eligible to receive up to a max. of 50% of that amount. Earlier this month we were notified that we would be receiving $49,000.00 from this grant. This money will be used to update our ranges, improve our upstairs training areas and other already identified projects. A special thanks to

Rick Persinger, Mike Herron and Don Simpson for all of the time and hard work they put in preparing the application for this grant. 2. Rentals. We had a rental last weekend (12/7/13) and have another one scheduled for the Hudson Fire Department. A special thank you to Connie Prescott and Pat Knorn for decorating and cleaning before the rental last weekend. 3. 2014 Hudson Rod, Gun and Archery Club calendar. We are working on the calendar for 2014. If you have any dates to add to the calendar please contact Mark Wotruba. Please include date, plus an alternate date name and phone number. 4. Trap machine winterization. The trap machines will be set up with heat tape to warm the hydraulics to ensure they operate in cold weather. 5. RSO Class. We want to schedule another RSO class and get some more people trained to be RSO instructors. 6. The trap shed tent. The zipper on the door is broken and needs replacement. 7. Sight in Days. We had approximately 480 nonmembers and 45 members shoot 599 firearms at sight in days this year. This event brought in $4002.00. 8. Bar Stools. The backs for the bar stools have been ordered. 9. Mike Cravens gave an update on the building and grounds. a. Parking lot has been expanded to give more room for parking and snow removal. b. Pistol Range. Drain tile has been added at the base of the rock wall and a rubber mat was placed over the rock so the water will drain down to the drain tile. c. Gutters have been installed to minimize the ice we get on the walk way into the pistol building. d. The east berm that you shoot into has been moved back and raised. e. Concrete block wall is complete on the north side of the pistol range. 10. Don Simpson gave an update on items that he has been working on. a. Web site. Any ideas or changes please contact Don. b. New Point of Sale Cash Register. This machine has the ability to keep track of inventory, It will be able to swipe membership cards and identify if your membership is up to date. A motion to purchase this machine and not to exceed $3000.00 was made by Sue Phillips, second by Jeff Prescott, motion carries. c. Brass. Don Simpson and Mike Herron have personally purchased some equipment to polish the brass that we collect on the ranges. If this process works they will be reimbursed for the amount of their purchase from the profits from selling the brass. Our plan is to sell polished brass to members first and then dispose of the left over brass in the most efficient way. 11. Teal Persinger reported on some Boy Scout News. a. The Boy Scouts are planning a muzzle loader shoot for January 25, 2014. b. Congratulations to Boy Scout, Jonathan Kreye for completing his Eagle Scout Award. New Business
