1. P.G. Courses: PG prospectus 2018-19 The University offers post graduate courses in 10 subjects as given below. The course duration is 02(Two) years consisting of 04 semesters. Courses 2018-19 : Only Women Candidates can apply as follows: Biotechnology (Self Financing): 45% of marks secured in Honours in Biotechnology/Botany/ Zoology at graduation level. Computer Science (Self Financing):45% of marks secured in Honours in Computer science/ Information Technology / Information Science and Technology/ Information Technology and Management at graduation level. Life Science: 45% marks secured in Honours in Botany/Zoology/ Life science at graduation level. Hindi, Odia, English:45% of marks secured in Honours at graduation levels in concerned subjects. 3

Economics: 45% of marks secured in Honours in Economics at graduation level. Gender Studies: 45% of marks secured in any Honours subject (Arts, science, commerce) at graduation level. Commerce: 45% of marks secured in Honours in Commerce at graduation level. Home Science : 45% of marks secured in Honours in Home Science at graduation level. N.B.: Those who have passed the Three-year Degree Course Examination from a University / Institution where provision of teaching in Honours does not exist, will be eligible to apply for P.G. courses provided they have passed the examination in the concerned subject with minimum of 8 papers carrying at least 800 marks, subject to the fulfilment of the minimum eligibility condition.(45% in the concerned subject) 4. Reservation of Seats: For all the courses reservation of seats will be as follows: A) As per the Government of Odisha Notification No.HE-PTC-SAMS-0006-2017/10161/HE Bhubaneswar dated 07.04.2018 following reservation principles will be adopted: 22.5% of seats shall be reserved for Scheduled Tribe students. 16.25% of seats shall be reserved for Scheduled Caste students. The seats reserved for the SC & ST are not inter-changeable.in case of non-availability of applicants/candidates in one of these categories, seats will be filled up from the candidates of the General merit list. SC/ST caste certificates, issued by Revenue Officers, not below the rank of Tahasildar/ Additional Tahasildar are to be produced. B. 5% of total number of seats in each subject will be reserved for (PWD) students with extent of disability not below 40% (blindness and low vision, hard of hearing, locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy, autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness). C. 1% of the sanctioned seats shall be reserved for Self/ Children /Wife /Husband of Ex-Serviceman, Serving Defence Personnel & Children of Martyrs. D. Sports I. One seat of the total seats is reserved for the candidate who has represented in the international sports event during the last 03 years. II. Those who have represented the state during last three years at National level sports shall get 10% of marks over and above the aggregate career marks. NB-Sports events, approved by the Indian Association of Universities, will only be considered. Sports Certificate must be countersigned by the Director of Sports and Youth Services 4

How to apply online: PG prospectus 2018-19 Application Fee for PG: Rs.500/- only Candidates are advised NOT to use mobile phones for filling up Online e-admission form in order to avoid possible mistakes, otherwise University will NOT be responsible for those wrong entries. Availability of online application form: 24.05.18 to 13.06.18 Date of entrance test: 20.06.18 & 21.06.18 (in 02 sittings) Submission of Hard copy with requisite documents in the University office: 18.06.18 to 03.07.18 (11AM to 04.PM) Important Instructions to all students for online Application: The candidate has to register online for appearing the entrance examination and admission to P.G. Pre-Registration Requirement The Following documents must be made ready before starting the Application process. Scanned copy of your recent passport size photograph in JPG Format with maximum dimension of 150px in width & 180px in height not exceeding 200KB in size. Scanned copy of your signature in JPG format 50KB in size. B. Registration Process: Step1: For Registration, the candidate should have a valid & active Mobile Number and also have a valid & active e- mail ID. Step2: For registration please click http://rdwuniversity.nic.in/candidate-registration.html (New User Registration) and provide the relevant data in appropriate fields. This will take you to the Registration page Select Course Applied for form the dropdown list. Select Department from the Department dropdown list. Select Subject From the Subject dropdown list. In the Name field write your Full Name as per your HSC (10 th ) certificate. Enter a valid & active Mobile Number and email ID, which will be the registered for the entire registration process. In the D.O.B field, enter your Date of Birth as per your HSC (10 th ) certificate by selecting through the Calendar. Now click on the Register button to get yourself registered. You will receive an OTP in your Mobile Phone and email ID. Provide the OTP to validate your registration and proceed for the Payment. C.Payment Procedure: Payment of Application Fee can be done through MAKE PAYMENT Link. Payment can be done online through Net Banking/ Debit Card using SBI e-pay. After successful payment through Net Banking or Debit Card using SBI E-Pay, you will get an e-receipt generated immediately from the System containing a reference number. After making a successful payment you will receive Login ID & password on your Mobile Phone and email ID immediately. In case you have not received the same, e-mail may be sent indicating your Application Id and Date of payment of application Fee to helpdeskrdwu@gmail.com. After getting Login ID and password please visit to http://rdwuniversity.nic.in/candidate-login.html to fill up the prescribed application form. Submit the application form online after filling the form completely, If Your Result is awaited the PRINTOUT can t be generated. Edit option will be available for entry of +3 final degree marks only to those candidates who have registered on or before 13.06.18. They can update +3 final degree marks till 29. 06.18 or 15 days after the publication of +3 final degree result of Rama Devi Women s University whichever is later. After that the candidates can take PRINTOUT and submit the Hard Copy of the Application with required documents on or before 03.07.2018. Send the filled in print out of the application form with your signature along with all the relevant documents. However, Each Applicant (who have the application fees) will be intimated through SMS and email to download the admit card for entrance test in due course of time. 5

SUBMISSION OF HARD COPY: The applicants are required to send the hard copy of application along with the following documents by a registered post/speed post/by hand in a A4 size envelope addressed to The Chairperson, PG Council R.D. Women s University, Bhubaneswar,751022 so as to reach at the University office on or before 03.07.18 by 4 PM. The University will not be held responsible for any postal delay. The applicants are required to write Application for admission to the P.G. Course in subject on the top of the A4 size envelope. Self-Attested photo copies of following documents are to be enclosed with the Hard copy of application form at the time of submission. a. Certificates and mark sheets of 10 th,+2 and +3 Degree examinations /equivalent examinations. b. ST/SC Caste Certificate, issued by Revenue Officer, not below the rank of Tahasildar/ Additional Tahasildar. SC Certificate should be in the name of Applicant. In case of ST Candidates the Certificate may be in the name of Candidate or her Father. c. PH/OH Certificate issued by the CDMO/SDMO/CMO of Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar. d. Ex-serviceman certificate (issued by ZillaSainik Board) e. Children of Martyr (CoM) Certificate issued by District Collector f. Serving Defence Personnel (Army / Navy / Air Force) Certificate issued by the Commanding Officer of the Unit. g. Sports Certificate, approved by the Indian Association of Universities and countersigned by the Director of Sports and Youth Services. h. Migration Certificate, if the candidate has passed from other University. i. One recent passport size colour photograph, to be fixed in the application form. j. E-receipt of Application Fee. NB: Your application will not be considered, if the hard copy of your filled in application form along with relevant documents do not reach the University office in time. 6

7. Selection Procedure a. Selection will be made on the basis of marks secured in the entrance examination and the career mark from HSC to +3 level(as per eligibility criteria) taken together. Maximum marks for career will be 60 and Entrance 40 marks. For CBSE 10 th mark sheet where letter and point grades are given the grade may be multiplied by 9.5 to get the equivalent percentage of marks. c. Career marks for Distinction will be awarded only if the distinction is mentioned in the certificate. d. In case of a tie, first consideration will be Honours mark &next the aggregate mark in +3 Degree to break up tie. Entrance examination is compulsory for PG Admission. Level of question: 1. UG level honours of respective subject except Gender Studies, Life Science and Biotechnology. 2. For PG in life Science questions will be from honours level of Botany, Zoology & Life Science and for Biotechnology questions will be from Honours level of Botany, Zoology & Biotechnology 3. For Gender Studies questions will be from Gender related and General Knowledge questions. Question Pattern for entrance test: a. Multiple choice questions (MCQ) with 04 options. b. Each question carries 01 mark c. Duration 01 hours. 7

Admission: PG prospectus 2018-19 a) Original Certificates & Mark sheets of 10 th, +2 and +3 degree examinations/ Equivalent Examinations. b) Original College Leaving Certificate and Conduct Certificate from the Institution last attended. c) Original University Registration Receipt. d) Original Migration certificate (for students from other University) e) Original Blood Group Certificate f) Three self-attested recent coloured passport size photographs. g) Original Caste Certificate in case of ST/SC candidates, issued by Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahasildar /Additional Tahasildar. h) For ST candidate her father s caste certificate may be taken into consideration. i) PH/PwD certificate/id should be issued by District Welfare Officer / community Development Officer / Social Welfare Department of State Government Officer Or certificate issued by the CDMO/ Chief Medical Officer, Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar. j) Sports event, approved by the Indian Association of Universities, will only be considered for reservation. 16. General Information: PG prospectus 2018-19 1. Course fee will be collected for two semesters along with admission fees and other charges. 2. In case of any doubt regarding the authenticity of documents produced, the same will be forwarded to the DIG, Crime branch, Bhubaneswar for scrutiny. 3. Application without copies of certificates in support of reservation / relaxation of dues will not be considered for the same. 4. Suppression of facts/submission of incorrect information of the applicant, if detected at the time of admission or thereafter, will render the selection/admission invalid. 5. Incomplete application in any form will be rejected. 6. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited. Each applicant has to furnish an undertaking in this regard. 7. Indiscipline in any form in the campus or in Department or in Hostel will not be allowed. This may lead to rustication from the University. 8. Students must come to the campus in proper uniform. 9. Students must abide the University Rules, Department Rules, Hostel Rules (For Boarders) and other such rules enacted from time to time by the University. 10. Examination: In order to be eligible to appear at the University Examination, a student has to secure at least 75% of attendance and a student having attendance between 60% to75% will be permitted with Medical Certificate. 11. Correspondence regarding Admission: All correspondence (with application id number) in connection with P.G. Admission should be addressed to the Chairperson, P. G. Council, R. D. W. University, Bhubaneswar. 12. Under no circumstances, the application fee is refundable. Each has to submit the application fee of Rs.500 (Rupees Five hundred only) separately for each application. 13. After admission to the PG courses in RDW University, if a student takes TC, the fees and charges paid at the time of admission will not be refunded. However, In case of all self-financing courses, paid courses of PG if a candidate takes TC before the last date of Admission only the course fee will be refunded. But, No course fee will be refunded if the candidate takes TC after the last date of admission. 14. For Self-financing courses of PG and paid seats of PG if the candidate desires to take TC after the last date of admission of that course, TC will be issued only after payment of full course fee for total duration of the course. 15. Few seats available in the hostel (only for those who have opted) and merit is the only consideration for selection.
