Board Meeting May 18, 2017 The Colbert County Board of Education met on May 18, 2017 at Cherokee High School. The time of the meeting was 4:45 p.m. All members were present except Member Moore. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and a moment of silence held. approved. Upon a motion by Member Burgess and a second by Member Saint, the agenda was Upon a motion by Member Saint and a second by Member James, the minutes of the April 20, 2017 Board Meeting were approved. During the Superintendent s Report, current events and presentations were made for student achievements within the school system. Superintendent Satchel recommended the approval of the Reconciled Monthly Financial Report for April 30, 2017. All bank statements have been reconciled back to the general ledger. These reconciliations are part of the Monthly Financial Statements for the month ended April 2017. Member Saint moved that the recommendation be approved. Member Burgess seconded the Superintendent Satchel recommended the approval of the Scholastic Month Payroll $2,028,966.95 and the Bills and Accounts $464,227.01 for April 2017. Member James moved that the recommendation be approved. Member Burgess seconded the motion and the motion carried. Superintendent Satchel recommended the approval of the following overnight/out-ofstate fieldtrips: Colbert County High School FFA to Convention in Auburn University Montgomery, June 6-9, 2017.

Cherokee High School FFA to State Convention in Auburn University Montgomery, June 5-9, 2017. Superintendent Satchel recommended the approval to declare school lunch trays surplus and sell on Government Deals. Member Saint moved that the recommendation be approved. Member Burgess seconded the Superintendent Satchel recommended the approval of UNA Teaching Intern Stipends. Member James moved that the recommendation be approved. Member Burgess seconded the Superintendent Satchel recommended the approval to pay Baseball Coaches at Cherokee High School for additional work. Jerry Long - $790.00 and Scotty James - $995.00. Member James moved that the recommendation be approved. Member Saint seconded the Superintendent Satchel recommended the approval of a Student Mobility and Transfer Request. Member Saint moved that the recommendation be approved. Member Burgess seconded the Superintendent Satchel recommended the approval of cafeteria renovations at Cherokee High School, Colbert County High School and Colbert Heights High School. Member Saint moved that the recommendation be approved. Member Burgess seconded the motion and the motion carried.

Superintendent Satchel recommended the approval of the FY2017 Budget Amendment. Member James moved that the recommendation be approved. Member Burgess seconded the Superintendent Satchel recommended the approval of the Track Coach Supplement for Mark Turner at Colbert County High School, effective February 27, 2017. (Remainder of Ben Smith s supplement) Member Saint moved that the recommendation be approved. Member James seconded the Superintendent Satchel recommended the following Board Policy revision to be placed on the table: JBD Student Attendance Regulations. Superintendent Satchel recommended the approval of the following Matching Funds Request: Colbert Heights High School: Restore Hard Surface to replace library floor $3,600.00 Superintendent Satchel recommended the approval of Purchasing Card Service Agreement and Resolution with Regions Bank. Member James moved that the recommendation be approved. Member Burgess seconded the Superintendent Satchel recommended the approval to pay (1) CNP Worker to prepare meals during the Summer Reading Program at Colbert Heights Elementary. (16 days / 7.5 hours per day /normal rate of pay) Member Saint moved that the recommendation be approved. Member Burgess seconded the Upon a written recommendation, Superintendent Satchel recommended the approval to accept the following Resignations: (effective at the end of the 2016-2017 school year) 1. Mallory Greenhill, Fourth Grade Teacher at Colbert Heights Elementary School. 2. Callie Henderson, Band Director at Cherokee High School.

Member Evans seconded the Upon a written recommendation, Superintendent Satchel recommended the approval to accept the following applications for Retirement: (effective June 1, 2017) 1. Roosevelt Carter, Science Teacher at Colbert County High School. 2. Judy Rivers, Sixth Grade Teacher at Cherokee Elementary School. 3. Hazel Scott, Bus Driver for Colbert Heights. 4. Pat Uptain, Reading Coach at Hatton Elementary School. Upon a written recommendation, Superintendent Satchel recommended the approval of the following Family Medical Leave Request: 1. Jimmy Michael, Custodian at Colbert Heights Elementary School, effective June 1 September 1, 2017. Member Saint moved that the recommendation be approved. Member Barnes seconded the Upon a written recommendation, Superintendent Satchel recommended the approval of the following Non-Renewals: (effective at the end of the 2016-2017 school year unless stated otherwise) 1.
