Steps taken to improve the Hostels Hostels have been rationalized basing on strength Unviable hostels with low strength are going to be converted as Girls Post Matric Hostels. Hostels having adequate land and which are located near by road point are being converted as Residential Schools. Allowing Post Metric Girls to stay in Pre Metric girls hostels Use of Bio-metric devices in hostels Rs.16 Crores have been allotted for minor repairs in hostels Additional dormitories, kitchen, dining halls, toilets and store rooms etc., are being taken up in hostels on need basis. Diet charges are being enhanced for all pre matric hostel inmates Super fine rice is being provided by Civil supplies Dept to all the hostels. MANA TV is being installed in all the Hostels. Adequate tutors are being provided in all the Hostels. Modern libraries are being set up in all the Hostels. All the hostels are being supplied 2 Tier Cots and adequate furniture. 7

Steps taken to improve Ashram Schools In all the Ashram Schools Digital Education is being introduced Modern Libraries and Labs are being established. PMRCs are being strengthened Adequate Dining halls, dining tables and benches are being provided Contract Teachers are being recruited where ever there is teacher vacancy New Sports schools are being established Adequate sports material is supplied to all the Ashram Schools Computer Labs are setup in all the Ashram Schools 10

GPS Schools Rationalization of teachers in GPS Schools SCRP system has been revived Regular teacher trainings are being organized It is proposed to provide Note books, bag, shoes, belt, etc., to all GPS students from next academic year GPS Schools may be tied up with Anganwadis 12

TW POST MATRIC HOSTELS(DAH) At present (112) TW Post Matric Hostels are run by the Department. Recently Government of Telangana has sanctioned 52 new Post Matric Hostels vide G.O.Rt.No.399, TW (EDN) Dept., Dt:14-07-2016. The details as are follows. Sl. BEST AVAILABLE SCHOOL SCHEME (BAS) Bright children among STs are selected by District Selection Committee under the Chairmanship of Collector in non-itda districts and Project Officers in ITDA districts in each district ST children are being admitted in the Best Available schools (Reputed Private Management Schools). During 2016-17, (5872) ST students are studying in (62) schools identified under Best Available Schools program. The entry point in BAS is III (50%), V (25%) & VIII (25%) of total seats. In the Department total 6000 BAS seats are sanctioned. Recently Govt. of Telangana has enhanced the BAS scholarship for Rs.20,000/- to Rs.30,000/- per child per annum. POST MATRIC SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ST STUDENTS ELIGIBILITY: ST students who are pursuing Inter, Degree, P.G., Professional & Research Programmes and whose parental income is less Rs.2.00 lakhs per annum are eligible. REGISTRATION OF APPLICATIONS: The Post Matric Scholarship scheme is computerised and is administrated through (http://telanganaepass.cgg.gov.in/) portal. COMPONENTS OF POST MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME: Reimbursement of Tuition Fee (RTF) : The RTF component comprises of all non- refundable fee charged by colleges (as fixed by the University / Boards) and is paid to colleges directly. The fee reimbursed generally ranges from Rs.1200/- for Intermediate course to Rs.1.50 lakhs for professional courses per annum per student. ST Job Portal o o o o Online arena for ST job seekers and job providers. Bridging the gap between the employers and job seekers. Providing multiple support services like Job alerts, job search, skill trainings, interviews, placement and admission notifications for higher education etc., So far (3002) ST unemployed youth have been registered. 22

TCR & TI The Tribal Cultural Research and Training Institute headquartered @ Hyderabad and in view of AP Reorganization, there is an urgent need to strengthen the institute. It takes up research and evaluation on Tribal Culture and suggests suitable developmental plans / Training Programmes for socio economic development of STs. The status of protective regulations like Land Transfer Regulations and RoFR Act is : LTR: Cases booked (since inception) = 53,022 (2,08,512 acres) Cases disposed = 52,075 (2,05,431 acres) Cases decided in f/o STs = 31,279 (1,05,962 acres) Land physically restored to tribals = 22,706 (81,898 acres) RoFR: Govt. of India enacted the Act The Scheduled Tribes and other Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights (RoFR) Act, 2006 (Act 2/2007) Implementation started in the State on 25.1.2008. Total claims received = 2,15,742 - extent claimed is 13,03,847 acres Titles Distributed = 1,00,247 extent cleared is 8,46,773 acres Claims rejected = 99,377 extent involved is 3,81,566 acres Pending = 16,118 extent involved is 75,508 acres An amount of Rs.12,449 Cr. is proposed under Vanabandhu Kalyana Yojana to TRIs for the year of 2015-16. 23
