(52.1999) Entrepreneurship is a course designed to familiarize students with the characteristics of entrepreneurs and to make them aware that owning and operating their own business is a realistic career option. Students will be exposed to small business operations, marketing, human resources, accounting, business law and other related areas to business ownership. Students will choose a business of their choice to own and operate and at the end of the course the students will have created a complete professional business plan. (52.1999) The curriculum standards include the following: Law, Communication Skills, Customer Relations, Economics, Emotional Intelligence, Financial Analysis, Human Resource Management, Information Management, Marketing, Operations, Professional Development, Strategic Management, Channel Management, Marketing-Information Management, Market Planning, Pricing, Product/Service Management, Promotion, and Selling. Course Materials/Resources Textbooks: Entrepreneurship, Goodheart-Wilcox Technology: ipads for all students, document scanners, Printers, POS systems, and imac for video advertisements and editing. All students will be given opportunities to attend a minimum of one field experience each school year. Those students who do not attend the scheduled experience(s) will be required to find a site where they will spend a minimum of one class period in a business related to their program of study. The student will be required to get the teacher s signed permission, the parent/guardian s signed permission, fill out a training agreement to be signed by the site supervisor, and provide their own transportation to and from the site. Upon completion of the field experience, the student will turn in a question and answer assignment provided by the teacher regarding the experience. 2

Plymouth Canton al Park Course Policies & Expectations Absent/ Make-up Policy: Students will be allowed to make up all possible work. It is the responsibility of the student to obtain missed assignments. In regards to making up work when student is absent, will not differentiate between excused versus unexcused. All students will have the opportunity to make up missed work. Students will need to make -up class time if they miss more than three store shifts during a school quarter. Classroom Rules: All students are expected to follow all policies and procedures in the PCEP Student Handbook. Technology: The following permission slips will be required for any student to use technology in the classroom and will need to be signed by their parent or guardian. -Permission slip allowing the use of any technology in the school. -Permission slip allowing the students pictures to be used in commercials, and the PCEP website. -Permission slip that holds the student responsible for the damage of any equipment in the Marketing and School Store classrooms. 4
