All EMT classes (EMS 110, 115, 118, 120) must be taken and completed in one EMS 230 ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) 1 semester. All of these classes must be completed with a grade of 80% or higher and students EMS 231 PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) 1 must pass the final FISDAP exam with a 76% or higher to be eligible to take the National EMS 232 PHTLS/ITLS 1 Registry Examination for Emergency Medical Technician. EMT certification is required to advance to the higher levels of EMS, the AEMT Course and Paramedic Technology program. Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Course Prerequisites 1. Students cannot be admitted to the EMT course if they are not admitted to BSC due to an incomplete Admissions file. 2. The EMS/Paramedic Program requires placement assessments in English and Reading. The assessment will be waived if you have taken college level English (course must transfer in as ENGL 110). 3. Complete application packet for EMT Course must be submitted to EMS/Paramedic Program Director, 500 E. Front Avenue, Suite 206, Bismarck, ND 58504. Complete application packets include the following items - incomplete packets will not be reviewed until complete: a. Application to the Emergency Medical Services - EMT Course. b.
