You will note the theme for this year s convention is All Things New. This is taken from Jesus statement in Revelations, Behold! I make all things new, an appropriate theme for the Diocese at this time. Included in this packet are the forms and information you need to return to the Diocesan office by the dates shown on the attached memorandum. Please comply with the date deadlines to ensure timely confirmations and communications. Also, enclosed in this packet is a welcome flyer from St. Christopher s, indicating the Convention hotels and the dates to make reservations to get the Convention rates. Please note both convention hotels provide breakfast with their room rates. A Convention schedule, driving directions and other information will be forwarded to all delegates in the pre-convention packet. Our preacher and chaplain for this convention will be The Rt. Rev. Don Johnson, Bishop of the Diocese of West Tennessee. We will repeat the schedule from last year that included a full open hearing on the Diocesan budget and other Diocesan finance issues. Every Convention delegate will be invited to this event Thursday afternoon. We also, again, plan to have an orientation and get-acquainted session for first time and small church delegates Thursday afternoon. Friday afternoon will include time for the convention to meet in plenary and small groups led by the Bishop s Search Committee (BSC), to share dreams and desires for our next bishop and the leadership the diocese needs. This will be a timely discussion as part of the Episcopal search process. Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. I look forward to our annual family gathering at Convention, and to our continued work in this diocese. PMD,II/kwr Enclosures
