JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Facilitates the development, implementation and evaluation of the district s PreK-12 instructional programs by collaborating with directors and principals and by outlining learning objectives, instructional strategies and assessment techniques. Oversees and evaluates the performance of all curriculum content facilitators and related committees. Facilitates curriculum content facilitators in the identification of individual and grade level needs including enrichment, remediation and multicultural experiences to enhance learning. Establishes and implements an on-going procedure with school principals and curriculum content facilitators to ensure the alignment and assessment of the PreK-12 curriculum and articulation across and between grade levels. Stays current on developments in curriculum to determine their appropriateness for inclusion in the District s educational program. Applies current research to ensure effective learning experience for all students. Facilitates a process that involves instructional staff in evaluating and selecting digital and print instructional materials. Ensures the use of appropriate technology in curriculum in order to create relevant learning experiences for all students. Solicits feedback from appropriate stakeholders for curriculum planning purposes. Utilize data to determine the effectiveness of the district s curriculum and instructional practices to ensure that all students realize their potential. Provides the Superintendent with documentation and support for budget preparation. Develops and monitors annual budgets for curriculum programs. Maintains current curriculum materials and published graduation requirements, approved courses, credit information, registration guides, and other important information concerning the district s curriculum. 8

Facilitates a process to determine the addition of new courses, the grade placement of courses, the credit allowance for courses, and district graduation requirements. Provides leadership to develop curriculum for any course newly mandated by the legislature or the Board of Education. Coordinates the continuous improvement of the district s curriculum. Collaborates with leaders in curriculum and instruction at state, regional and national level Partners with institutions of higher learning and educational consultants to ensure that curriculum prepares students for college and career readiness Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent BASIC REQUIREMENTS: 1. Arkansas Administrator Certificate preferred (or ability to obtain) and proven experience in leading curriculum improvement. 2. Graduate of an accredited college or university with an advanced degree in curriculum and instruction and/or district administrative leadership 3. Training and/or experience working with students/staff on development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum, instruction and assessment. 4. Understanding of current research on equitable best practice(s) related to teaching, learning, grading, homework, use of technology and leadership 5. Knowledgeable and experienced with a broad spectrum of PreK-12 programs and curriculum. 6. Ability to demonstrate instructional leadership skills. 7. Demonstrated success at leading continuous improvement efforts including the establishment of data priorities to raise student achievement. 8.
