This is necessary to promote stability and the school s ability to plan its staffing and resourcing needs. 3. School fees are divided into four terms each year. Fees are due by the 2 nd week after the term starts; failing which a 1% penalty will be imposed. The school reserves the right to request students to leave if fees and penalty are not paid in full by the 4 th week of each term. WITHDRAWAL & REFUND 1. Student Absence: No refunds of deposit or tuition fees are entitled if requested due to student absence. 2. Temporary School Closure: No refunds of deposit or tuition fees are entitled if requested due to the school having to temporarily close due to adverse weather conditions or an unforeseen, exceptional emergency situation. 3. 4. Withdrawal of Student: 4.1 Upon enrolment to the school, it should be understood that any parent wishing to withdraw their child from Woodlands International School for the above criteria must give one full Academic Term s Notice in writing, which must be submitted to the School Principal. Usually a parent will meet with the School Principal to discuss their child s withdrawal and their reasoning before submitting a Term s Notice in writing. Note that Notice is not deemed to have been given until written confirmation has been received and acknowledged. 4.2 If it is intended that a student will leave the school at the end of an academic term, written notice of withdrawal must be received by the school no later than the first day of the same academic term. 4.3 Once received, a copy of written Notice of Withdrawal will be given to the relevant Head of Section. 4.4 A Leaving Certificate to authenticate a student s study period and curriculum studied will be prepared in all cases where due written notice has been given and where all prior tuition fees have been paid in full and upon return of all school properties, and books. (Note that families with outstanding accounts/payments upon withdrawal of their child from school, will not be eligible for a School Leaving Certificate or be able to access any of their child s transcripts, reports or other records. Release of these documents will only occur once full payment has been received, including any late payment fees incurred). 4.5 Any foreign student (including children of expatriate families working within Sibu) will have their Student Pass cancelled by the school as of the last day of attending school. 4.6 If a full academic term s notice has not been given, the deposit shall be retained by the school plus a term in lieu of notice shall be retained/collected.
