St George s UK Language Centre One life: live it, love it!! Activities and the weekend The team at St George s believes that learning outside the classroom is as important as learning inside the classroom. That is why the college provides a full social programme with activities and excursions for students. Our social programme is student focused, which means it is guided by your interests and could include activities that support your learning or career ambitions, hobbies and favourite past-times or visits to places on your living in the UK bucket list! Whilst all of our activities are completely optional, we believe they are a great way to get to know your fellow house-mates, offering opportunities to try something new and get to see more of the UK.* Sports and fitness The college works in partnership with a local gym and leisure centre to offer reduced-price membership ( 50 per term) to all our students, allowing them to work out, attend exercise classes, swim or choose from a wide range of sports. The Sports Centre is a short walk away from St George s and is open 7 days a week. While we have excursions to places we think our students will enjoy, we recognise that students may wish to travel by themselves or with friends.** * All details (including any extra costs) can be found in the common room. ** All students must follow the request for leave procedure which will be explained during their induction. St George s must be kept informed of a student s whereabouts and travel arrangements at all times. Students under the age of 18 must also get permission from their parents or guardian.

Our joint venture with you... With a more mature environment we expect that all our students will take a more mature approach to their studies, learning and organising their free-time. Of course we are always on hand to support our students 24/7, but at this stage of their education it s time for them to take the driving seat and know that they are responsible for their success. We provide students the opportunity to be successful, helping them to achieve their ambitions by supporting their development towards the qualifications they need to get on to the next step of their career paths. We take the time to know the strengths and weaknesses of our students so that we can then offer the right support. We get to know who they are so that we can provide engaging, exciting and meaningful activities, excursions and extra-curricular opportunities. That s our aim, but this is truly a joint venture where you have to understand that your future lies in your hands and it will take commitment and dedication from you to achieve.
