Official Report Introduction This report is a listing of accredited degree and certificate programs at The University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) for which a national accrediting agency exists. In addition, for Graduate Medical Education, all residency and fellowship programs are listed, whether accredited or otherwise. The main purpose of this report is to provide an academic year snapshot of the accreditation status of KUMC programs, which is available to the public (http://www2.kumc.edu/aa/ir/ea-reports/official-accreditation). The report is used primarily to meet the Kansas Board of Regents requirement that each Regents institution provide an annual report on accreditation. All programs at KUMC are accredited under the umbrella of The University of Kansas by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA). The last comprehensive review by the HLC was completed during the 2004-05 academic year. With an accreditation length of 10 years, the next site visit will occur during the 2014-15 academic year. Report originally published 9/15/12. Fellowships in Hematology/Oncology, Hospice & Palliative Medicine, and Infectious Disease were excluded in prior report.
