MY VISION FOR THE UNIVERSITY My vision for the university is to create congenial and supportive environment which may produce men and women who shall be the leaders of present and future. This would necessarily require a unique academic system which has to be at par with the top international universities exhibiting inter disciplinary pillars of technology, research, innovation and liberal arts. Each student has to be provided opportunities for exploring his/her potential as per global needs. It means to take potential minds and propel them towards greatness, explore and expand human knowledge base, deepen understanding and foster universal brotherhood to do public good that benefits the society as a whole. The university shall have blending of inter, trans and multi disciplinary, research orientation and liberal arts approach with a view to enhance competence, promoting skills and inculcate the quality of analyzing all aspects of a problem to arrive at a suitable and sustainable solution. For this achievement, the university would have both Credit and Grading System of international standards. The University shall provide inbuilt freedom to the faculty to adopt any technology for the deliverance and evaluation of the curriculum. The students would also be given complete freedom in selecting any subject(s) of their choice at any time barring a few pre-requisites which have to be completed by them. The university would also create environment to attract International Research Scholars for undertaking Research Projects and also to share their knowledge, skills and research experience both with students and faculty. The university would provide modular curriculum by inviting experts from industry, corporate world and universities with excellence. The design of the curriculum shall be to provide knowledge and skills (hand-on training). Each student would be required to work with large industrial and commercial houses with a view to grab opportunities for designing and developing research agenda. The University would also encourage students to opt subjects outside their major domain with a view to broaden their mental horizon and knowledge base. The curriculum would retain key features like semester system, credit hours based on students learning and a flexible student-centric curriculum and program structure. Each student would be required to take some core subjects and some open electives along with major degree. Besides it, it shall create corpus of knowledge with a view to impart vital skills like critical thinking, effective communication, problem solving, teamwork, community service, leadership, etc.. This would be further strengthened by adding subject-based course objectives and students learning outcomes. Another requirement of the university shall be to provide state-of-the-art infrastructure and continuously improve its Information Resource Centre and laboratories by modular facilities for achieving high standards in research and patents. Apart from it, the students would be provided platform for co-curricular and co-mural activities and high standard health and physical facilities both for indoor and outdoor games. Thus, it can be concluded that the academic system of the university shall be in complete agreement with the objectives of the Government of India (Human Resource Ministry) which emphasizes that the universities should contribute to national development, foster global competitiveness among students, make full use of technology, inculcate moral and ethical values for ongoing quest for excellence. 12
