SUMMER CHALLENGE 1 2 The L3 Extended Certificate involves a lot of time spent doing experimental work within laboratories. Write a list of as many laboratory hazards as possible that you can think of. Using this list write down 5 key rules that students should follow that will help to keep people safe whilst working in the laboratory. On a Periodic Table of the Elements identify the location of alkali metals, the halogens, transition metals and Noble gases. 3 As the extended certificate contains aspects of all 3 sciences; biology, chemistry and physics remind yourself of some key aspects of each subject by: a) Listing the similarities and differences between plant and animal cells b) Drawing dot and cross diagrams for sodium chloride, magnesium chloride, methane and oxygen c) Describing the different energy transfers that take place when bouncing a ball BTEC National Certificate Applied Science
