Board Goals Tina Lampila and the Board reviewed the Board goals. Board of Education Goals The Board of Education of the Spencer-Van Etten central School District will: Promote universally high standards and expectations while providing opportunities for growth and discovery. Foster an environment conducive to developing civic responsibility, leadership, pride, problem solving, and self-discipline. Deliver comprehensive, consistent, high quality Pre-K -12 curriculum. The Board decided to make a few changes and will look at again at next meeting. 3. Review Strategic Plan The Board made a few changes and will review at next meeting. Items for Board Discussion 1. Merger Dr. Morgan has received the final report from the state and there will be a meeting tentatively set for September 17 at 6:30 with the joint Boards. Dr. Morgan will meet with the Candor Superintendent to discuss a community information plan. 2. Public Communications Expediting Casey Fish was given 2 new ways for us to advertise for meetings by a community member. G. Regular Reports 1. Administrative Reports Missy Jewell Buzz of athletics beginning, we are ready to go with new school year. Eric Knolles Voluntary summer faculty meeting went well. Teachers have APPR scores, good 5 point growth. Good growth in NWEA scores as well. 2. Superintendents Report Dr. Morgan invited all Board members to the opening day conference at the high school at 8:30. 3. Presidents Report Mr. Loomis represented our school district at a meeting with Congressman Reid on school safety. Big focus on mental health services in schools. H. Items for Board Action 1.
