INTRODUCTION Practical Update in Cardiology 2016 is designed to provide attendees with a comprehensive review of the latest breakthroughs and advances in cardiovascular medicine. The course will focus on practical management issues for practitioners in a variety of key topics such as coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, valve disease, and congestive heart failure. With a combination of didactic lectures, case presentations and panel discussion, faculty will also highlight cutting-edge therapies and discuss common challenges encountered in daily clinical practice. Objectives By attending this conference, attendees should improve their ability to: Describe new diagnostic techniques to evaluate coronary artery disease Review new recommendations in hypertension Describe new agents for treatment of hyperlipidemia Discuss new advances in the management of pulmonary embolism Target Audience This CME conference has been designed to meet the educational needs of cardiologists, cardiac care providers, internists and family practitioners.
