II. INTRODUCTION Diksha is a motley group of highly trained professionals from multiple backgrounds pursuing the cause of education and sustainable development through rural interventions in India. A not for profit organization established to help facilitate a process of education and empowerment of the economically and socially underprivileged, Diksha aims to provide skill sets to rural communities that will help them engage in sustainable economic activities as well as build healthy and productive lives for themselves. The Diksha programmes use environmental education, skill training, therapeutic recreation and old-fashioned fun to help the learning of participants. The organization endeavours to open up the minds of participants, increase their self-esteem, build and strengthen their capacities to cope with life s challenges and educate them with the skills necessary to actualise their greatest potential. Special focus is on building an awareness and responsibility for the environment Page 4 of 12

III. AREA OF FOCUS (vision and mission) Mission: The organization endeavours to open up the minds of the learners, increase their self-esteem, build and strengthen their capacities to cope with life s challenges and educate them with the skills necessary to actualise their greatest potential. Special focus is on building an awareness of and responsibility for the environment. We aim to serve every district in the country within the next 20 years. Vision: Educated and empowered children and adults, with special focus on the girl child. IV. LIST OF ONGOING PROJECTS Page 5 of 12

A. KHEL- Knowledge Hubs for Education & Learning Project, Patna As a part of this project a centre has been set up in Patna for education of children who have either never been to school or are school drop-outs. The project is based out of rented premises near Jagdeo Path, Patna. The concept of KHEL is inspired by Manzil, an organization in Delhi. While Mr. Ravi Gulati (http: //manzil.in/our-story), co-founder, Manzil is guiding Diksha. The project is being funded by contributions from individuals on monthly basis, which, at present, is helping 40 children belonging to an underprivileged community. Resource mobilization to initiate computer vocational training is in process. Pictures of KHEL Patna Project Page 6 of 12

B. Neeraj Kumar Memorial Learning Centre (KHEL Project), Hilsa, Nalanda Based on the KHEL, Patna, another centre has been established in Hilsa, Nalanda district. This centre is supported by Media Guru Company as part of their CSR activities. Through this centre we support learning needs of 40 children from an underprivileged community which has been facing social discrimination.we also plan to offer vocational skills to the youth. The project is joint initiative of Media guru, Alok Charitable Trust and Diksha Foundation. Page 7 of 12

C. Prarabdh Project, Gangagarh Village, Bulandshahr Prarabdh, in collaboration with Alok Charitable Trust, is designed to facilitate a learning journey catering to students and rural community groups, to build their capacities around self and help them realize their full potential. As a part of this project a Computer Lab and Library has been established in SRB Alok School. In addition different activities like Vocational Training, Teacher's Training, Women Self Help Group formation, Dental & Medical Camps have been conducted/initiated. Through this project Diksha Foundation has been reaching 850 school children and 200 members from the village community. D. School Development Project, Amhara, Bihta A school is being established in collaboration with Chinta Haran Development Trust under this project to cater to the learning needs of rural children at Amhara Village, District Bihta, Bihar. As a part of the project Diksha aims to make the learning of children exciting and compatible with their natural environment by employing the sustainable building concept and BALA (Building as Learning Aid) design concept. V. MEMBERS OF GOVERNING BODY Person Mr Ajit Kumar Experience Supply Chain professional with over 5 years of varied experience in Supply Chain Management. Ajit holds a degree in Engineering from BIT, Mesra & Masters degree in Business Administration from SP Jain, Mumbai. He is currently working as a Consultant with Cognizant Technology Solutions. Mr Gautam Gauri B Tech (Computer) -BIT, Ranchi, MBA (International Business)-IMT Ghaziabad With more than 4 years of experience in Business Analysis and Development and 1 year in Social Work Page 11 of 12

Mr HN Sahay Ms. Mohita Katariyar Mr. HN Sahay has a successful track record in the area of business development at national level for over 28 years. He has served a number of premier corporate houses.he moved Social Sector with Prayas; a Delhi based national level NGO in year 2003. He has handled issues concerning Child Rights and Juvenile Justice, Alternative Education and Livelihood Skills Development, Self Help Groups and Microfinance, CSO Governance and Sustainability. Mohita has a strong interested in total development of children, She combines a high degree of enthusiasm and knowledge to facilitate student learning in an innovative and constructive manner. She holds a bachelors degree in education.mohita works with DPS Noida. Mr. Pratyush Mishra Mr. Saurabh Kumar Mr Vikas Gupta Human resource professional with experience in combining relevant academic training with implementable strategies to re/engineer people-focused processes. Pratyush holds MBA degree from Christ College. He works in HDFC Bank. B Tech, MBA (Finance) - IIT Kanpur. More than 4 years of experience in financial consulting (Finance) He is Managing Director, Compark Group. He holds keen interest in Enabling transition of masses to virtual world with the help of an innovation-based & impersonal organisational eco-system. He has earlier worked as Assistant Professor at Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad. He holds an MBA degree from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and has also studied Corporate Law at Institute of Company Secretaries of India Page 12 of 12
