ATTENDANCE/PROMOTION POLICIES Attendance Policy Refer to pages 21-24 of RBHS Family & Student Handbook Students are allowed the following number of absences before losing course credit: 180-day course (full year) - 10 lawful/unlawful absences 90-day course (semester course) - 5 lawful/unlawful absences To promote to 10th grade Must have five (5) total credits before school starts in August Must include one (1) English Must include one (1) math Promotion Requirements To promote to 11th grade Must have eleven (11) total credits before school starts in August Must include two (2) English Must include two (2) math

SC 4-YEAR COLLEGE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR ENTERING COLLEGE FRESHMEN BEGINNING IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2019-20 All courses should be taken at CP (Theory), Honors, AP, IB or dual enrollment level English - 4 credits Strong grammar and composition; English 1, 2, 3, & 4 Math - 4 credits Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and one higher level math (ex. Algebra 3, Pre-Calculus, Probability & Statistics, Discrete Math) Lab Science - 3 credits Two units selected from Biology, Chemistry or Physics; the third should have one of those three as a prerequisite Strongly recommended students desiring to pursue careers in science, math, engineering or technology take one course in all four fields: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth Science PE or ROTC - 1 credit

SC 4-YEAR COLLEGE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Social Studies - 3 credits Must include US History, 1/2 credit of Government, and 1/2 credit of Economics World Language - 2 credits (some colleges require 3 credits) Must be the same language Fine Arts - 1 credit One unit in appreciation of, history of, or performance in one of the fine arts Academic Elective - 2 credits May include computer science or an additional course in English, fine arts, world language, social studies, lab science, or math above the level of Algebra 2

To meet the minimum requirements you must: Complete 16 Core Courses For Division I, 10 core courses must be earned before your seventh semester For a complete list of our NCAA core courses, visit www.eligibilitycenter.org Division I qualifiers must earn a minimum 2.30 core course GPA Division II qualifiers must earn a 2.20 core course GPA See your counselor or coach for information on a program we have for RB students called www.corecoursegpa.com to track your core course GPA Earn a combined SAT or ACT score matching your core GPA on the appropriate sliding scale You will not create an Initial Eligibility account until the end of your Junior year.

LEXINGTON TECHNOLOGY CENTER Students who travel to LTC will spend half of the day at River Bluff and the other half of the day at LTC. You will take four total credits at LTC and three or four credits at RBHS. Example: AM at RBHS PM at LTC Yearlong classes Sem 1 Sem 2 Path 1. English Block 3 Animal Science Intro to Horticulture Path 2. Math Block 4 Animal Science Forestry Path 3. Science or Social Studies Path 4. ILT or elective Shuttles take students to and from LTC

AEROSPACE SCIENCE (AF JROTC) AT LHS Students planning to take Aerospace Science (JROTC) will travel to LHS and enroll in two credits of JROTC (one each semester) and two credits at LTC (one each semester). You will take three or four credits at RBHS.

IMPORTANT DATES AND DEADLINES Course selections made during pre-registration will be reviewed individually with your counselor in your IGP. Students may make changes in PowerSchool until December 8th. After Dec. 8th, you will need to see your school counselor to make a change. The deadline to request a change is March 16th. Teacher recommendations and master scheduling may impact selections. School counselors will help students edit their selections throughout the spring.

As we learn of any legislative changes to state scholarships, we will let you know. Information current as of Nov 20, 2017. Current Academic Criteria: Must meet ALL criteria Score 1200 SAT* (Critical Reading & Math) or 27 ACT composite Earn a 3.5 minimum GPA at the end of the Junior year** Rank in the top 6% of the sophomore, junior or graduating senior class OR Score 1400 on SAT* (Critical Reading & Math) or 32 ACT Earn a 4.0 GPA at the end of the Junior or Senior year Award Amount: $6,700 Freshman year (sophomores, juniors & seniors may earn up to $7,500/yr) * SAT score may change with new SAT concordance table Eligible applicants will be notified when information is available (typically Nov). 4-Year College Current Academic Criteria: Must meet 2 of the 3 criteria - Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the end of the senior year Rank in the top 30% of the graduating class** Score at least 1100 SAT* (CR & M only) or 24 ACT 2-Year College Current Academic Criteria: Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the end of the senior year Award Amount: $5,000 or up to the cost of tuition * SAT score may change with new SAT concordance table **Students graduating Early (Dec) or in Summer School do not get ranked back with their class so can only qualify with the test score and GPA criteria for 4-year institution eligibility NO APPLICATION required.
