Saint Susanna Catholic School Principal s Letter Grow with God September 4, 2018

Principal s Letter Dear St. Susanna Families, As I acclimate to the role of principal, the theme of community has been on my mind a great deal. What does it mean for us to be a Catholic school community? I think that at the heart, it means that we pray for, love and support each other through all of the seasons of life. Most recently, we had the opportunity to support Sister Merrita s family, who by extension is part of our own community, during the difficulties they face as a result of the devastating flooding. As a school community we raised over $1,800 to send to them in Kerala. Sister is grateful for the support and love during this time. Our next early dismissal of the year is scheduled for 1:00 PM, Thursday, September 6, 2018. The teachers will travel to Cardinal Ritter High School and meet with their grade level counterparts from the West Deanery to share best practices, lessons, and work on curriculum alignment to ensure our students are prepared for high school. We are also gearing up for a great year filled with many activities. Our first major event and fund-raiser is the Jamboree and the planning committee could use your help. All of our volunteer opportunities are listed at www.saintsusannaschool.com/volunteer. If you have not already signed up for a volunteer opportunity, please do so as soon as you can. Blessings, Janet Abdoulaye

School News License# 143003 Join us on September 29 th from 6:00 to 9:00 PM in Zore Hall for a stompin good time. The community is welcome to join us for the Jamboree, a family-friendly event. The evening starts with a chili tasting, fellowship, and activities for the kids. Concessions are available throughout the evening with kid-friendly offerings. Adult beverages, 50-50 raffles, and a jail and bail are available during the event to add to the fun. General admission is free with the drawn down raffle and chili tasting available for an additional charge. Click HERE to enter the Chili Cook-Off or to help with the event by bringing a cornbread, a dessert, or assisting with the evening. The Draw Down Raffle The draw down raffle starts around 7:00 PM. Prizes will be awarded throughout the evening as tickets are drawn. The first ticket out wins $500 and the excitement continues as $50 is awarded for every 50th ticket drawn. The last ten tickets win the biggest prizes with a top prize of $4,000 awarded at the end of the night. Tickets are available after each mass before the event, from Saint Susanna school families, from the school office, or at the door the night of the event. Each ticket is $20 and not only enters you in the draw down raffle but gives your entire family access to the chili tasting as well. License# 143003 Chili Cookoff The highlight of the evening is the chili cook-off. Our talented Saint Susanna families are invited to whip up their most impressive chili, dress up their competition tables, and compete for top prizes. Will our own Roger Dutcher reign supreme in the Hottest Chili category yet again or can someone beat his fiery stew? Didn t buy a draw down ticket? No problem! You can get bowls for unlimited tasting for just $5 per person. Jail and Bail Jamboree 2019 Jail and Bail is a favorite activity. No one is safe from the St. Sue Sheriff! Starting for a small donation, you can jail anyone from your favorite teacher, principal,.or priest and they have to raise their own bail to be released! The St. Sue jail holds prisoners of all ages so get your list of prisoners ready!
