LECTURER, CENTRE FOR BIO-TECHNOLOGY & BIO-INFORMATICS- 1 POST- AC/4/131/14- (CBPS) The Centre is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and gifted Scientist to the post of Lecturer in Bioinformatics to join the thriving teaching and research community at the Centre. Biotechnology and biomedicine research ha witnessed an increasing need to integrate large data from computational molecular biology and post- genome bioinformatics with other key disciplines, especially via new algorithms and databases. Applicants should have a BSc. and MSc degree in Biomedical disciplines/mathematics or a relevant area in a computational biosciences and a PhD degree in Bioinformatics. ASSISTANT CHIEF INTERNAL AUDITOR- 6 POSTS- AC/4/135/13- (R&T) Applicants should be holders of at least an MBA or its equivalent, CPA(K)or its equivalent, membership to a professional accountancy body, 9 years relevant experience,3 of which should be as a Senior Accountant II, have shown merit and ability in accounting/auditing, computer literate in word processing, data base management and spread sheets OR a first degree from a recognized university,cpa (K) 10 years experience in an audit department of a large organization at a senior level. Membership of a recognized professional body [e.g. ICPAK. Possession of CISA and CIA will be an added advantage. The successful candidates will be expected to :- Interpret and execute the mandate of Internal Audit at the College. Provide professional guidance to management staff. On-the-job training and supervision of auditors answerable to him/her. Oversee the assessment of the overall management of risk at the colleges Oversee the preparation of detailed annual audit plans and programmes. Ensure comprehensive audit reports/returns are prepared to the required standards. Follow up to determine adequacy of corrective actions. Provide assistance to external auditors as requested. SENIOR ACCOUNTANT II, FINANCE DEPARTMENT- 2 POSTS-AC/4/136/13- (R&T) Applicants should be fully qualified CPA (K) who are registered members of ICPAK and in good standing. They must also posses a Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Management or Finance. Holders of an MBA or its equivalent will have an added advantage. They must have at least five (5) years relevant experience at a senior management level three (3) of which must be as Accountant EF or equivalent. They must be proficient in Computerized Accounting. This is a senior position and so one must have the ability to supervise, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They should also have high level of integrity and ability to work with multi disciplinary teams of professionals. ACCOUNTANT GRADE E/F, FINANCE DEPARTMENT- 6 POSTS- AD/4/137/13- (R&T) Applicants should be fully qualified CPA (K) or equivalent. MESSENGER GRADE II, DEPARTMENT OF LIBRARY & INFO STUDIES- FACULTY OF ARTS- 1 POST AD/4/149/13- (CHSS) Applicants must be holders of at least a KCSE certificate or its equivalent. They must have at least five years working experience in relevant offices. They must have a good school leaving certificate and a good reference letter from current Section Head. They must be able to communicate fluently in both English and Kiswahili languages. They must have served as Messenger / Cleaner grade I or equivalent position for at least three (3) years. They must have good public relations. They must have knowledge of the use of office equipments like photocopiers etc and must be of high integrity, reliable, disciplined and committed to work. The successful candidate will be expected to show outstanding merit and ability to handle highly classified information and work with minimum supervision. POSITIONS IN THE FIELD STATION PLUMBER GRADE III- 1 POST- AD/4/150/13- (CAVS) Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE certificate and a Government Trade Test Grade II in Plumbing and Pipe Fitting. They must have served as Plumber II for at least three (3) years in a busy farm with irrigation system. Those with a CPE certificate of education or equivalent and have GTT III in Plumbing and Pipe Fitting and at least nine years working experience will also be considered. Those with experience in irrigation systems and drainage will have an added advantage. POULTRY HEADMAN GRADE III- 1 POST- AD/4/151/13- (CAVS) Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE certificate or its equivalent qualification with at least three years experience in general livestock management. They must have served as Animal attendant Grade II or equivalent for at least three years. Experience in poultry management with emphasis on indigenous chicken and labour supervision will be an added advantage. They should have experience in managing both dairy and beef herds, pasture and labour. They must have served as Animal Attendant grade II for at least three years. ELECTRICIAN GRADE IV- 1 POST- AD/4/153/13- (CAVS) Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE certificate and hold a Government Trade Test Grade II in Electrical work. They must have at least three years practical experience as Electrician Grade III or equivalent in a busy farm with irrigation system supported by electric pumps. Those who have a Certificate in Electrical Installation with experience in farm and irrigation equipment will also be considered.
