They must have at least five (5) years teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate degree levels. They must have supervised at least three (3) Masters Students. They must have research experience as evidenced by at least four (4) publication s in refereed journals or two (2) chapters in scholarly books since the last promotion. They must be specialized in any of the following areas: Condensed Master Physics (Solid State Physics or Materials Science), Electronics, Theoretical physics, Geophysics, Applied Radiation & Nuclear physics, Laser physics & Spectroscopy. The successful candidates will be required to teach and supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate students. They will also be expected to supervise their research projects, and to initiate and conduct research in their areas of specialization. LECTURER, CENTRE FOR BIO-TECHNOLOGY & BIO-INFORMATICS- 1 POST- AC/4/131/14- (CBPS) The Centre is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and gifted Scientist to the post of Lecturer in Bioinformatics to join the thriving teaching and research community at the Centre. Biotechnology and biomedicine research ha witnessed an increasing need to integrate large data from computational molecular biology and post- genome bioinformatics with other key disciplines, especially via new algorithms and databases. Applicants should have a BSc. and MSc degree in Biomedical disciplines/mathematics or a relevant area in a computational biosciences and a PhD degree in Bioinformatics. They should have research experience in the field of Bioinformatics, with at least two (2) publications in refereed journals or two chapters in scholarly books. They should show evidence of continuing research activity. LECTURER, DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINSTRATION- 1 POST AC/4/132/13-(CHSS) Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in any of the following areas of specialization: - Strategic Management, Human Resource Management, Insurance, Marketing or International Business from a recognized university. Those who possess a Masters degree in relevant field and have at least three (3) years teaching experience at University level will also be considered. In both cases, they should have research experience, with at least two (2) publications in refereed journals or two chapters in scholarly books since last promotion. They should show evidence of continuing research activity. The successful candidates will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate students and undertake further research in their areas of specialization. 1

LECTURER, INSTITUTE FOR DIPLOMACY & INTERNATIONAL STUDIES - 2 POSTS AC/4/133/13- (CHSS) Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in International Studies, International Security Studies, Diplomacy or International Conflict Management from a recognized university. They should have research experience, with at least two (2) publications in refereed journals or two chapters in scholarly books since last promotion. They should show evidence of continuing research activity. The successful candidates will be expected to teach and supervise at both undergraduate and postgraduate students and undertake further research in their areas of specialization and also handle administrative duties as assigned by the Director, IDIS. ASSISTANT LECTURER, INSTITUTE FOR DIPLOMACY & INTERNATIONAL STUDIES- 1 POSTS -AC/4/134/13- (CHSS) Applicants must be holders of a Masters degree in International Studies, International Security Studies, Diplomacy or International Conflict Management from a recognized university. They must have registered for a PhD degree and should have research experience, with at least two (2) publications in refereed journals or two chapters in scholarly books since last promotion. They should show evidence of continuing research activity. The successful candidates will be expected to teach and supervise at both undergraduate and postgraduate students and undertake further research in their areas of specialization and also handle administrative duties as assigned by the Director, IDIS. ASSISTANT CHIEF INTERNAL AUDITOR- 6 POSTS- AC/4/135/13- (R&T) Applicants should be holders of at least an MBA or its equivalent, CPA(K)or its equivalent, membership to a professional accountancy body, 9 years relevant experience,3 of which should be as a Senior Accountant II, have shown merit and ability in accounting/auditing, computer literate in word processing, data base management and spread sheets OR a first degree from a recognized university,cpa (K) 10 years experience in an audit department of a large organization at a senior level. Membership of a recognized professional body [e.g. ICPAK. Possession of CISA and CIA will be an added advantage. The successful candidates will be expected to :- Interpret and execute the mandate of Internal Audit at the College. Provide professional guidance to management staff. On-the-job training and supervision of auditors answerable to him/her. Oversee the assessment of the overall management of risk at the colleges Oversee the preparation of detailed annual audit plans and programmes. Ensure comprehensive audit reports/returns are prepared to the required standards. Follow up to determine adequacy of corrective actions. Provide assistance to external auditors as requested. Carry out any other duties that maybe assigned by the Chief Internal Auditor. 2

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT II, FINANCE DEPARTMENT- 2 POSTS-AC/4/136/13- (R&T) Applicants should be fully qualified CPA (K) who are registered members of ICPAK and in good standing. They must also posses a Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Management or Finance. Holders of an MBA or its equivalent will have an added advantage. They must have at least five (5) years relevant experience at a senior management level three (3) of which must be as Accountant EF or equivalent. They must be proficient in Computerized Accounting. This is a senior position and so one must have the ability to supervise, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They should also have high level of integrity and ability to work with multi disciplinary teams of professionals. ACCOUNTANT GRADE E/F, FINANCE DEPARTMENT- 6 POSTS- AD/4/137/13- (R&T) Applicants should be fully qualified CPA (K) or equivalent. They must also posses a Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Management or Finance. Holders of an MBA or its equivalent will have an added advantage. They must have at least five (5) years relevant experience at the level of Assistant Accountant EF or equivalent. They must be proficient in Computerized Accounting including Word, Data Processing and Spreadsheet.. ASSISTANT INTERNAL AUDITOR GRADE E/F- 6 POSTS- AD/4/138/13- (R&T) Applicants should be holders of at least a Bachelors or equivalent, CPA (K),computer Literacy, have shown merit and ability over a period of at least three (3) years in the Grade of Assistant Accountant grade EF OR a Business related degree, CPA II and 5 years experience in Internal Audit, CPA III and 8 years experience in Internal Auditing of a large organization, CISA, CPA, qualification (part) and 12 years experience in Internal Auditing in a large and busy organization. The successful candidates will be expected to:- Review internal control systems and report any weaknesses. Report on systems and procedures on issues of economy and effectiveness. Assist in the planning phase on assigned segments of work. Responsible for allocated audit assignment and providing reports thereon. Undertake special audit investigation and report findings. Execute detailed audit procedures, including reviewing transactions, documents, records, reports and policies and procedures for accuracy and effectiveness among other duties. SENIOR TECHNOLOGIST GRADE DEF, LIBRARY DEPARTMENT - 1 POST- AD/4/139/13- (R&T) Applicants should be holders of BSc degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent from a recognized institution with at least three (3) years relevant working experience. Applicants with a Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent from a recognized institution plus three (3) years experience as a Technologist in a busy academic institution will also be considered. 3

The successful candidate will be expected among other responsibilities, to maintain Library ICT hardware and software, network configuration, data security and backup. The candidate will also facilitate training in ICT and user support. TECHNOLOGIST (AGRONOMY, PLANT BREEDING& ENTOMOLOGY) GRADE ABC, DEPARTMENT OF PLANT SCIENCE& CROP PROTECTION- 3 POSTS -AD/4/140/13- (CAVS). Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE Mean Grade C with credits in relevant science subjects and an Ordinary Diploma in Applied Biology or its equivalent plus 3 years working experience in an Agronomy or Crop Physiology teaching/research laboratory, in a Botany or Genetics teaching/ research laboratory OR in an Entomology teaching/ research laboratory. Applicants for Agronomy or Plant Breeding with field experience will have an added advantage. TECHNOLOGIST (APPLIED HUMAN NUTRITION) GRADE ABC, DEPARTMENT OF FOOD SCIENCE, NUTRITION & TECHNOLOGY- 1 POSTS -AD/4/141/13- (CAVS). Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE Mean Grade C with credits in Biology or Chemistry and an Ordinary Diploma in Medical Laboratory technology or its equivalent plus 3 years working experience in a clinical, research or a teaching laboratory and be registered by the KMLT TB Board. The successful candidate will be expected to assist in preparation of teaching materials for both undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects and participate in the Unit s IGUs. ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT GRADE AB, FINANCE DEPARTMENT - 10 POSTS- AD/4/142/13- (R&T) Applicants should be fully qualified CPA (K) or equivalent. They must also posses a KCSE Grade C+ or above with at least C in English and Mathematics or equivalent qualification with at least 3 years experience as Accounts Clerk Grade IV and be computer literate. Those with a Bachelor s degree in accounting, Management or Finance will have an added advantage. REGISTRY SUPERVISOR GRADE AB, PRINCIPAL S OFFICE, COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES--1 POST- AD/4/143/13- (CHS) Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE C or equivalent with credits in English and Mathematics or equivalent, a Certificate in Record Keeping or Office Management, KATC final or ACNC or its equivalent. They must have at least three (3) years of service as Records Clerk IV or equivalent qualification. They must be computer literate especially in MS Office Packages. SENIOR STOREMAN GRADE AB, SCHOOL OF DENTAL SCIENCES- 1 POST- AD/4/144/13- (CHS) Applicants should be holders of at lest a KCSE Grade C with C in English and Mathematics or an equivalent qualification, a Diploma in Supplies Management and at least three (3) years a Storeman 4

Grade IV. Those who have at least five years experience in a busy hospital will have an added advantage. They must be computer literate. ASSISTANT SECRETARY GRADE A, PRINCIPAL S OFFICE, COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES--1 POST- AD/4/145/13- (CHS) Applicants should be holders of a KCSE Grade C or KCE Div. III or its equivalent qualification with a Credit in English language. In addition they must have passed the following subjects offered by the Kenya National Examinations Council or equivalent examining body:- - Business English II - Commerce II - Secretarial Duties II - Office Management III - Shorthand 80 wpm or Audio Typing III - Typewriting 50 wpm They must be computer literate. ASSISTANT SECRETARY GRADE A, PRINCIPAL S OFFICE, COLLEGE OF BIOLOGICAL & PHYSICAL SCIENCES--1 POST- AD/4/146/13- (CBPS) Applicants should be holders of a KCSE Grade C or KCE Div. III or its equivalent qualification with a Credit in English language. In addition they must have passed the following subjects offered by the Kenya National Examinations Council or equivalent examining body:- - Business English II - Commerce II - Secretarial Duties II - Office Management III - Shorthand 80 wpm or Audio Typing III - Typewriting 50 wpm They must be computer literate. Please note that the appointment will be on a one year contract term, renewable on mutual agreement AND the successful candidate will be stationed at the CODL and CEBIB office. STOREMAN GRADE IV, DEPARTMENT OF PLANT SCIENCE & CROP PROTECTION- 1 POST -AD/4/147/13- (CAVS). Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE c with a C in English and Mathematics or an equivalent qualification. They must also hold an Advanced Certificate in Supplies Management or its equivalent and at least Three (3) years at Grade III level or equivalent. NURSERY ATTENDANT GRADE III, DEPARTMENT OF PLANT SCIENCE & CROP PROTECTION- 1 POST -AD/4/148/13- (CAVS). Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE level or an equivalent qualification. They must be able to communicate effectively in both English and Kiswahili languages. They must have at least three 5

years working experience in maintaining lawns and flowerbeds. Experience in maintenance of crop protection plots in a teaching or research instituion will be an added advantage. MESSENGER GRADE II, DEPARTMENT OF LIBRARY & INFO STUDIES- FACULTY OF ARTS- 1 POST AD/4/149/13- (CHSS) Applicants must be holders of at least a KCSE certificate or its equivalent. They must have at least five years working experience in relevant offices. They must have a good school leaving certificate and a good reference letter from current Section Head. They must be able to communicate fluently in both English and Kiswahili languages. They must have served as Messenger / Cleaner grade I or equivalent position for at least three (3) years. They must have good public relations. They must have knowledge of the use of office equipments like photocopiers etc and must be of high integrity, reliable, disciplined and committed to work. The successful candidate will be expected to show outstanding merit and ability to handle highly classified information and work with minimum supervision. They will also be expected to work during odd hours and also during weekends. Please note that the appointment will be on a one year contract term, renewable on mutual agreement. POSITIONS IN THE FIELD STATION PLUMBER GRADE III- 1 POST- AD/4/150/13- (CAVS) Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE certificate and a Government Trade Test Grade II in Plumbing and Pipe Fitting. They must have served as Plumber II for at least three (3) years in a busy farm with irrigation system. Those with a CPE certificate of education or equivalent and have GTT III in Plumbing and Pipe Fitting and at least nine years working experience will also be considered. Those with experience in irrigation systems and drainage will have an added advantage. POULTRY HEADMAN GRADE III- 1 POST- AD/4/151/13- (CAVS) Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE certificate or its equivalent qualification with at least three years experience in general livestock management. They must have served as Animal attendant Grade II or equivalent for at least three years. Experience in poultry management with emphasis on indigenous chicken and labour supervision will be an added advantage. ANIMAL ATTENDANT GRADE III- 1 POST- AD/4/152/13- (CAVS) Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE certificate or its equivalent. They should have experience in managing both dairy and beef herds, pasture and labour. They must have served as Animal Attendant grade II for at least three years. Those who have experience in training animals or Artificial Insemination (AI) will have an added advantage. 6

ELECTRICIAN GRADE IV- 1 POST- AD/4/153/13- (CAVS) Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE certificate and hold a Government Trade Test Grade II in Electrical work. They must have at least three years practical experience as Electrician Grade III or equivalent in a busy farm with irrigation system supported by electric pumps. Those who have a Certificate in Electrical Installation with experience in farm and irrigation equipment will also be considered. SECURITY GUARD GRADE III- 1 POST- AD/4/154/13- (CAVS) Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE certificate or its equivalent with at least three years experience as Security Guard Grade II or equivalent in a busy mixed farm and have experience in guarding research work, farm produce and livestock. They be high integrity and be able to respond quickly during any major incident. They will be expected to work during odd hours and public holidays and should be physically and medically fit. NOTE: 1.
