For me it was easy to follow along but many people in the class found that he didn't explain things well and even preferred subs over him which would be why some may not want him as an instructor. Dr. Creamer teaches very well and provides detailed notes on each section that come in handy when it comes time to study for an exam. His way of teaching did not match the way I learn most effectively. Someone else could benefit from his teaching style though. My instructor is always prepared for class and was always willing to help He was helpful and cared about our learning experience Gives extra credit opportunities, pretty lenient He knows what he's talking about Very difficult class, I showed up everyday and still had lots of trouble grasping the topics the way he explained them He is really willing to help you outside of class which is super helpful, but during class we went super fast & it was difficult to comprehend everything being discussed. He spoke loudly, clearly, and answered all questions. I would not recommend him because his teaching style is not very clear and his tests are much more difficult than anything gone over in the notes. yes He's not as organized and goes over the powerpoints quickly. Go over the notes more in depth and slower He would always have office hours and was willing to help you. He's usually good at explaining problems, but can go fast on some slides, so learning to write quickly is a must. He gave opportunities for help and to improve our grade. Mr. Creamer made the concepts very easy to understand and offered plenty of help outside of the classroom. He was laid back but also a very effective professor. Our work load was very doable and the content of our work was meaningful. He had a solid grasp of the concepts being taught and explained them very clearly He gives you the opportunity to raise your grade and is open to a lot of questions. He is exceptionally easygoing and very willing to work with a student if they need it, even if it is outside his office hours. Dr. Creamer posted his notes on his website after class. They are helpful when I come across a problem I am stuck on in the homework. Now that I am studying for the final, I discovered I had lost some notes. It was nice to know that he had a copy on his website. He was very accessible when it came to office hours and kept up with e-mails very well. He gave a lot of opportunities to ask questions during class and was always available during the week. He was very open to questions during class. He was very open to answering questions in class and checking to see if we had questions. Also the take home quizzes had a bit more challenging questions that were very helpful to see. Take home quizzes I found office hours particularly helpful. Replacement quizzes. He works plenty of example problems within the lectures, and on review days. Thorough in explaining difficult concepts What would you recommend that your instructor change? Maybe go slower or explain things in simpler terms as many people didn't understand but would not ask. The third test was not written to where students had enough time to finish or to have adequate time to show their mastery of the topics I would recommend that the instructor offer a more narrow range of problems to study for the exams... I often found I studied the wrong problems that would not end up being on the exam. The way he organizes and presents his notes. The problems on the test were way more difficult than the homework or examples in class. Maybe just find more ways to explain concepts to students. So if they don't particularly understand one method they have another. Work examples throughly when teaching new concepts, not skipping steps. Add harder example problems in class to do together Provide more notes online from the lectures and problems that help prepare for the exams. His teaching methods. He goes too fast. Make a review for each test Have more students work out problems in class How his notes were stored online. Separate each section would have been more convenient. I would like to see more example problems in class, however the 50 minutes may not allow for many more examples to be shown. I feel as if when he explains a topic, he can be very technical, instead trying to simplify it in a manner that comes off easier. Also, when asked a question, he'll tend to verbally explain. I wish he would pictorially explain it. When going through new concepts, the busy work he has to do for a problem sometimes won't be explained. If you haven't previously taken calculus in high school or in college then this may be a lot harder for you than for someone who has. Also doing the suggested homework really helps in preparation for the test. Do all suggested homework problems and show all of your work even if you do not get an answer Attend class and complete the homework on time. Do the practice problems. Read the content before class and take personal notes. When you get to class, just follow along with his examples and work them out. Go to every help session you can to get help with the homework Make sure you fully understand how to do each webassign problem Study, study, study. Always seek help the course is very hard and you really need to get a lot of practice in knowing how to solve the problems. Ask questions, slow him down if he's going too fast, and pay attention to his work because he makes mistakes. Study the examples in the practice problems. Over and over and over Study even though you may already be good at math because the tests are tricky Listen and follow along when the instructor does his notes on the board. Do the example problems in the book and buy the answer solutions book. Stay on top of the online homework, go to week in review (or at least print out the review thats posted online to practice), don't forget about quizzes over the weekend, and don't blow off studying way in advance. Look at the suggested homework problems in the book, and go to class. Since there are a lot of opportunities to seek help in this course, my advice would be to use as many resources as possible. Just be prepared to have knowledge thrown at you. Read the tests carefully, on occasion the wording can be tricky. Pay attention in class. I would recommend Professor Creamer because he clearly explained everything we needed to know for the course, and he was more than willing to help. Moves too quickly and isn't clear while explaining the content Overall he made the content very understandable and did a wonderful job explaining new concepts to us Unpreparedness. I don't know if the content is really that difficult to teach of if he was not knowledgeable about the concepts. I don't do well in math, yet he made it very easy to understand! I would recommend this instructor. Very passionate about teaching, and it clearly shows in the content of the class. I would not recommend because he seems to not know what he is doing at all times. For someone who is already confused on the material, this often makes it worse. Overall the course was easy, and the grading on tests and quizzes was very generous His office hours were very helpful. Daniel was always concious of his students and their needs in the class. He always made sure that the information was clearly covered and if you has issues, office hours were readily available. Because he is very knowledgble on the subject and if prepared he can explain it very well. New at the job. Concepts were very hard to grasp with his explanations. He works with his students and makes sure that they understand the material he teaches. Professor creamer genuinely cares about students and their progression through the class. He took his time teaching the concepts and made sure everyone had a clear understanding of the foundation. He explained concepts clearly and the quizzes and tests were relevant to the material we learned. I think we need more examples that cover different problems we could find on web assign and on the quizzes and tests. Does a good job with course layout. Sometimes not super clear at explaining but overall an effective instructor. Course expectations were made clear He is kind of flustered and makes a lot of mistakes. If he had answers to practice problems already worked out that may be helpful. I had to scratch many mistakes out of my notes because he was making mistakes students would make. Very helpful during office hours, good at explaining concepts in class. I usually understood everything with the exception of a few concepts I would recommend him because he really shows that he is on the student's side and is working hard for their success as well as his own. His inexperience at teaching is apparent, and that sometimes makes it hard for him to explain things in terms we would understand, but he tries to overcome this by making presentations that round out his points. He made the lessons easy to understand and was very helpful when help was needed. I would recommend Mr. Craemer because he cares about his students and knows what he is teaching. Very nice and friendly, easy to approach for questions. Is very capable He an easygoing teacher, he allow multiple attempts at homework and can do parts of the homework instead of the whole thing at once. He gives out partial credit if you got an answer wrong if and only if you showed your work. I would recommend him with the caution that he can sometimes be a little confusing, but in the end you are able to figure out what he is trying to get across Although a lot of the times I understood where you were going with understanding the material- it seemed like because you were so smart and good at math that you overcomplicated basic math concepts. So we would leave and then come back the next time for class and you would come up with a new way to solve it. But it was confusing to have been taught the unconventional way and then for you to revert back to the original way or more widely used way. concept and then kind of revise that statement throughout the week as you did problems to contradict that statement, etc. It just sometimes made the concepts a little more difficult than they needed to be. I would recommend Daniel Creamer because he is patient in explaining concepts clearly, so the student may learn. To go over practice problems when studying for test/quiz and if confused, bring it up in class or go to office hours because he would actually probably take the one on one time to help. Tak it! Study more as you go and do not procrastinate on the homework. The advice I would have is to do both the practice and the homework sections on web assign. Doing both would allow for a good homework grade and reinforce the ideas learned in class without having to do the extra studying.
