Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) was founded in 1984 as Vellore Engineering College by Dr. G. Viswanathan, the founder Chancellor of the Institute. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF-2017) of MHRD, Government of India, has ranked VIT as No.1 Private Engineering Institution in India. The world universities ranking organisation, the QS has given 4 STAR rating to VIT. In addition to this, the industry consortium (FICCI) has awarded VIT as University of the year 2016 in India. The Cosmopolitan VIT provides an appropriate ambience for holistic learning and comfortable living. The university s international linkage provide ample opportunities for students and faculty to gain global exposure. VIT has signed MOU with more than 200 reputed universities across the globe for student & faculty exchange and for research collaboration. With the thrust given to research, VIT has gained a place in the top slot in Scopus Indexed Journal Publications among Indian universities. Indian industry interaction and foreign university collaboration have given VIT the much needed fillip for its progress. Department of Technology Management Department of Technology Management (DTM) is one the best functioning departments under School of Mechanical Engineering (SMEC). SMEC is one of the oldest School of VIT. The School offers 4 undergraduate programs in Mechanical, Production & Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Energy Engineering, & Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Automotive Engineering. In SMEC, VIT Industry Partnership Cell (VIT-IPC) has been established to create strong ties between industries and the university to explore various possibilities to work together in the areas of Engineering, Science, Management, and Humanities. DTM offers various management courses such as Marketing Analytics, Business Analytics, Social Marketing, Digital Marketing, Neuro Marketing, HR Analytics, Financial Management, Financial Markets and Institutions, Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management, & Project Management to UG/PG students of the university. Department of Mathematics Department of Mathematics is one of the science departments at The School of Advanced Sciences (SAS) that includes Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry disciplines. The School offers M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes in these domains. The School has been receiving research grants from various funding agencies such as DST, CSIR, DRDO, NBHM, BRNS, IGCAR, AERBA, NRB and ARDB. The School has also been recognised by DST for support under the FIST programme. The School conducts various programmes such as InoVIT, SciGATHER and VIT Mathematical Meet, which are South India level math and science contests for school children to create and encourage mathematical and scientific innovations among the students. The Department of Mathematics has a good record of organising seminars, workshops, symposium and conferences (NCPAM, ISTAM) in the recent emerging technical areas.
Structural Equation Modeling, Mediation, and Moderation SEM combines elements of regression analysis and factor analysis, and allows testing of complex causal relationships that are not possible through traditional multivariate approaches. SEM, which deals with primary data, helps to test the big model that consists of independent variable (s) and several dependent variables. A mediator explains the relationship between an independent and dependent variable. A moderator affects the strength of the relationship between an independent and dependent variable. Moderated Mediation Model Serial Mediation Model Objectives The objectives of the workshop are To know the basis of regression To provide ground knowledge on Structural Equation Modeling - as applied in management and social science research To learn mediation and moderation using SPSS Process Macro and AMOS Who can Attend? This seven-day workshop introduces participants to AMOS & SPSS software. Participants will learn to use it. The instructors will make use of excellent data sets to run and interpret models based on measurement model, path model, bootstrapping, mediation, and moderation results. People working in the area of Marketing, HR, Behavioural Finance, Information Systems, and other social science discipline such as English, Psychology, and Sociology will be most benefited. Having knowledge on Factor Analysis and Multiple Regression will be an added advantage.
Resource Persons Dr. Ravikumar B is working as Assistant Professor (Senior). He holds his doctorate degree on Statistics. He has 11 years of experience in Academics. He has conducted five National Workshops on data analysis using SPSS in association with IBM SPSS at VITBS and acted as resource person as well.
