St Michael s School 26 April, 2017 Newsletter No: 27 The Secret Life of Four Year Olds RDF Television are currently recruiting families for Channel Four s next series of The Secret Life of Four Year Olds and they are keen to recruit local parents of four and five year olds. Filming is likely to take place in London over three weeks of the summer holiday. Parents can apply at: http//bit.ly/sloyoapply Year Three Cake Sale and Coffee Morning - Reminder Don t forget to bring some money for the Year Three cake sale after school on Friday. If you are free, Year 3 parents would be delighted if you joined them for their coffee and cake morning also on Friday - in the dining room at 9:15am. Year Three: Celtic Harmony Miss Griffin and Miss O Brien must be very, very old because they know all about the stone age. In fact, they love nothing better than a traipse through mud to sit in stone age huts carving things out of wood. Next week, on Friday 5 th May, they are going to take the rest of Year Three with them. Have a great time!

Bank Holiday Monday, 1 st May. Long lie-in, gardening, BBQ, the family roast dinner, trip to the beach, the park or granny s house however you choose to spend your Bank Holiday, remember don t drop the kids off at school next Monday! Once-A-Week Peek It seems like quite a while since I reminded parents about the Once-A-Week Peek. Every Wednesday, as you eagerly anticipate the joy of the newsletter, remember, Its Wednesday, its Once-A-Week Peek! Then you can grab your children and have a Once-A-Week Peek through their hair to see if any nasties have taken up residence EMS DRUM Lessons To ensure that we do not get too far behind with drum lessons this term (due to the Bank Holiday and SATs week coming up), there will be an extra drum lesson with Rob this Friday, 28 th April, for all those children who have drum lessons on Mondays.

Mrs Betts-Hammond s Science Question of the Week! (The answer will be hidden in the newsletter) Q. When a species dies out, what is this known as? Y3/4 Cross Country Race I'm delighted to announce that our boys team won their event last week and the girls team came 6th!!! After winning the boys equivalent for Y5/6, we can now officially say that our Junior boys are the best in Enfield across all four year groups! Keep an eye out for our trophy in our soon-to-appear display cabinet (in the Office). Well done everyone - you're amazing! Mr Floyd TfL Competition To celebrate the arrival of the Women s Tour to London this June, TfL are running a design-a-flag competition for all primary school pupils across London. TfL are asking pupils to think about who their favourite female hero is and draw how she would get around London by bike. Pupils should draw their designs on the attached document and fill in the sheet with the required details. If you are unable to print the sheets off, Mrs Jones will have a few spares which you can ask her for. Please bring entries into school by Friday 5 th May at the latest so that we can send them in by the TfL deadline of Monday 8 th May. Entries should be handed to Mrs Jones. The winning entry will be made into the start flag for the London leg of the Women s Tour, which will take place on Sunday 11 June. The winner and their family will also have special access to VIP hospitality and a chance to meet some of the competitors! As a special bonus for this year s event, all entries will go in the draw to win one of 200 tickets to an exclusive VIP Kids Zone in Trafalgar Square. On race day they will receive a special goodies pack and a chance to meet VIPs, as well as join in all the festivities in the Square. These tickets are strictly limited and allow one primary-aged pupil and their guardian access to the VIP area per-ticket. For more information on the women s tour: http://www.womenstour.co.uk/
