It reflects the role of people working as senior civil works designers or paraprofessional designers who support professional engineers. You will learn to perform tasks that are broad, specialised, complex and technical and include strategic areas and initiating activities. Specific areas covered include civil drafting and advanced underpinning principles associated with civil design such as engineering mathematics, statics and strength of materials. By completing the course you will be able to design complex projects to ensure the implementation of a client's site requirements. This involves skills such as risk management, team effectiveness, managing design processes and establishing and maintaining quality systems. You will be assessed in a work environment or a simulated environment as specified in the Resources and Infrastructure Training Package. You will be advised of the requirements relating to accessing a workplace(s) and relevant OHS safety requirements at enrolment.
