WHY STUDY AT MIUC? 1 2 Personalised guidance and mentoring from professors dedicated to your personal growth and professional development. Academic Partnership between MIUC and the UWL. Programmes also comply with the Bologna Process and are recognised in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). At MIUC we make sure all of our students needs are taken care of when it comes to the development of their professional skills and their personal values. For this reason, each student is assigned a Personal Tutor upon enrolment who will always be available for private tutorials to reflect on their overall progress, make plans to further develop and strengthen weaker areas as well as to address any kind of issue that may affect their academic development. The University of West London (UWL) and Marbella International University Centre (MIUC), Spain will be launching a suite of undergraduate and postgraduate courses from September 2016, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in October 2015. As of academic year 2016/17, MIUC will have an opportunity to earn a British degree as MIUC courses will be validated by the University of West London, UK public university, named as the No. 1 modern university in London for graduate employment. We also offer Academic Support Classes that are designed to fine-tune the necessary skills for academic success, such as Research Methods, How to Write an A+ Text Analysis and Public Speaking, among others. 3 Reduced class size & low student to teacher ratio. It is proven that class size is an important variable when it comes to student academic achievement. Studies suggest that a general increase in student achievement occurs when classes are reduced to 20 pupils or less. For this reason, at MIUC the maximum capacity of classes is of 20 students, allowing students to enjoy individual attention from their professors which therefore maintains student attendance and grades at their highest. Our students also enjoy a low student to teacher ratio. This factor has also proven to increase academic achievement, enhance test scores and provide lasting academic benefits. Fewer students means that professors workloads are more manageable, allowing them more time to work one-on-one with students, captivating their attention and encouraging greater participation in class. 5 Digitally equipped facilities that encourage students and faculty to share their ideas and knowledge. All classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards as well as cameras that record image and audio of all lectures. These recordings, as well as the lecture slides that go through the interactive whiteboard, are directly uploaded to Blackboard, a virtual learning environment and course management system that is pre-installed in the complimentary ipad each student receives upon enrolment. Students can access their Blackboard account anywhere in the world as long as they have internet connection. Blackboard s main features include student chat, student-teacher discussion threads, course content access, grade access and online assignment submission among others. All this allows students and faculty to easily and openly share their thoughts, questions, ideas and knowledge in the most comfortable and accessible way possible. 4 6 Global mindset, exciting international atmosphere and multicultural environment. The programmes we teach at MIUC are ideal for those with a global outlook and international aspirations, giving students the chance to take on modules that will develop their managerial knowledge as well as a more specific understanding of the international aspects of the subjects. We maximise the potential of each student, giving our graduates a significant personal advantage in an increasingly competitive job market where companies are looking for so much more in candidates than just knowledge and expertise. Outstanding faculty comprised of top academics and industry leaders. Our Faculty comprises qualified, experienced and dedicated academic and industry professionals who divide their time between vigorous research and innovative business practices. Their genuine dedication to each individual student s academic and personal success and growth goes above and beyond what is considered average, making sure they go the extra mile to deliver the highest quality lectures, seminars and overall guidance on a daily basis. Their modern, tech-savvy teaching approach, complemented with specialised workshops, seminars and guest lectures by industry leaders creates an outstanding learning environment for our students. 14 MARBELLA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY CENTRE WWW.MIUC.ORG STUDENT PROSPECTUS

7 English support classes for optimal academic performance. All our programmes are exclusively taught in English. We are an international organisation and we therefore understand that English is not the first language of many of our students. For this reason, we offer students English support classes throughout the academic year to ensure the work they produce and deliver is of the highest quality, helping them increase their academic performance. MIUC students also have the option to attend a pre-sessional English course to prepare them to meet the required level of English prior to beginning the academic year. 9 Supportive community & fantastic networking opportunities. MIUC staff endeavours to support students throughout the duration of their studies, providing them with guidance and advice. Our Student Support Department assists students with housing, opening a bank account, getting a NIE (foreigner ID card) and any other personal or bureaucratic issues that may arise. Another advantage of studying at MIUC is the fact that we are an international institution. This means that our students and staff come from all over the world, allowing endless networking opportunities as our graduates will be connected with professionals across various industries around the world. 8 10 24h on campus security. The campus is located at walking distance from the town centre, the beach and residential areas. We understand parents concerns over their children s wellbeing. We take student, staff and guest s safety extremely seriously, for this reason, we endeavour to mantain outstanding security services. The campus is securely gated, has security guards patrolling 24h a day and the latest in electronic surveillance and access control systems at all entrances and exits, ensuring safety at all times. View the world from varied perspectives and gain confidence to express yourself. MIUC Faculty s vision and international background, together with an innovative and challenging teaching method where students are continuously pushed to question and critically analyse their surroundings, enables them to be independent thinkers capable of drawing their own conclusions and forming their own opinions taking as many factors as possible into consideration. This allows our students to effectively defend their point of view, hold an argument and express themselves confidently in any situation in life, professional or personal. 16 MARBELLA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY CENTRE WWW.MIUC.ORG STUDENT PROSPECTUS
