BIOGRAPHICAL/HISTORICAL NOTE These photographs are believed to be taken by W.R. Perkins, the Director of Agricultural Extension at Louisiana State University in 1919. SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE Photographs depict geological features in the Florida Parishes and other areas in Louisiana and Mississippi. The collection covers areas near Port Hudson, St. Francisville, Bayou Sara, Jackson, Kentwood, Roseland, Franklinton, Slidell, Varnardo, Hammond, and Covington, Louisiana. Photographs illustrate creeks, bluffs, eroded landforms, roads, vegetation, farms, and buildings. Included are depictions of gravel dredging and washing sites near Jackson, Kentwood, and Roseland, Louisiana. The individual album pages have been removed from the albums. Photocopies of those album pages are included. Photographs have been removed from the albums and are filed in the order in which they appeared in the albums.
