NINTH GRADE ENGLISH OPPORTUNITIES Students must choose either English I or Honors English I
Honors English I Honors students are expected to progress at a more rapid rate; therefore, additional units of study, activities, and assignments are incorporated.
Honors Considerations A sincere interest in language arts - a desire to read and write at an analytical level Parental support including the approval of reading more mature texts An acceptance of an increased but not unmanageable workload A previous grade point average of B or better in Language Arts Please have your child speak with his/her current language arts teacher if you are unsure of which is the best choice.
Elective Options Ninth grade students have 3 English electives from which to choose: Best Sellers Creative Writing I Speech and Debate All students are strongly encouraged to take an English elective.
