We follow the procedure given below. We give admissions in order of merit according to the merit lists that follow. Details of procedure. General 1. Admissions are at the sole discretion of our Principal. The decision of our Principal is final. No other person is authorized to grant or to promise or to make any representation regarding admissions. 2. All admissions are provisional, to be confirmed by our Principal and Admissions Committee; and subject to further approval by the University of Pune. 3. Admission is not guaranteed merely because your name appears in the merit list. We have amended the earlier complete list on the basis of valid objections received and further scrutiny of forms. 4. Page 2 of 5 Basis of admission 1. Admissions to all seats of 1st BALLB are based on merit. 2. We give admission in the order in which your names appear in the merit lists. The first merit lists of different streams and categories are given below. 3. All merit lists are provisional, and are based on the faith and assumption that the information and documents you submitted are true and correct. The decision of admission is subject to scrutiny of original mark sheets and documents at the time of interviews. 4. If you are a Non Resident Indian (NRI), Foreign National, Person of Indian Origin (PIO), or a Child of Indian Workers in Gulf & South East Asia, please see below for more information. Merit lists 1. Merit Lists are given below according to streams and categories. 2. Merit is calculated indicated by percentage on the basis of all marks in all subjects of the qualifying exam. It is not calculated on the basis of 'best four' or 'best five' or the like. 3. In case of same percentage at the qualifying examination (XII or equivalent) your position in the merit list is reckoned on the basis of marks in all subjects at the X or equivalent examination. Interviews 1. If your name appears in the merit lists given below, you must personally attend the interview on 18 July 2014. Time-table and venue is given below. If you do not personally attend the interview at the given time, we will not consider you for admission later. Admissions will proceed further to candidates next in line. We will not entertain any requests for postponement, whatever the reason. 2. You must attend interview at the time given below, and at your own expense. 3. You must bring all original documents with you for scrutiny at the time of interview. We cannot admit you if you do not have all original documents at the time of interview. We will not allow postponement for presenting documents. 4. You must bring the Demand Draft for fees at the time of interview. 5. We will not admit you if, a. you do not personally attend the interview, or b. you remain absent when called for the interview, or c. you do not bring original documents for our scrutiny at the interview, or d. your documents are not complete, or e. your application is not complete, or f. you do not submit the Demand Draft for fees immediately after the interview, or g. you do not pay fees immediately after the interview, or h. you do not complete other formalities after the interview, or i. you are not eligible under the rules and provisions applicable to admissions IMPORTANT NOTE: You are NOT eligible for admission into the first year of BALLB, if you have studied law in another institution. 6. You must complete the admission procedure on the same day by paying fees. Page 3 of 5 Documents You must bring with you and submit at the time of interview the ORIGINAL and one self-attested copy of the following documents at Nos 3 to 13. To self-attest a copy, write 'TRUE COPY' on a visible part of the document, and sign. 1. Two copies of passport size recent photograph 2. Demand Draft for fees 3. Statement of marks of the qualifying exam (XII or equivalent). 4. Statement of marks of the Xth or equivalent exam 5. SSC or Xth or equivalent certificate. 6. Passing certificate 7. A certified copy of entry of date of birth in birth-register or school leaving certificate, if your SSC certificate (Xth or old XIth) does not state your date of birth, 8. Transfer Certificate and School Leaving Certificate of the College or Board or School you attended. 9. Migration Certificate of the University or College or Board or School you attended, if it is affiliated to any Board other than Maharashtra Higher Secondary Board. (If you do not have it at the time of interview, you must undertake to submit it within fifteen days from the date of admission.) 10. If you seek a seat in the reserved categories, a. Valid and subsisting caste certificate issued by appropriate authority b. Caste Validity Certificate c. A valid and subsisting certificate from the appropriate authority that you do not belong to the Creamy Layer, if you seek admission in such sub-categories among NT, VJNT, OBC, SBC to which the creamy-layer criteria is applicable. d. A valid and subsisting certificate issued by the Civil Surgeon or Competent Authority under the Persons with Disability Act, 1995, if you seek admission and benefits in physically handicapped category. 11. If you are employed, a written permission from the employer to pursue the course and attend all the classes of the law degree course according to time table (i.e. upto 1.45 p.m. every day). 12. Domicile certificate (if applicable) 13. Your undertaking, and of your parents, concerning activities of the College and prevention of ragging. For your reference, the form of undertaking concerning prevention of ragging is given below after the merit lists. Fees 1. If your name is in the merit list given below, you should carry the Demand Draft at the interview. 2. Once we decide to admit you after your interview,, you must hand over the Demand Draft for fees immediately. 3. You must pay fees by Demand Draft of any nationalized bank drawn in the name of The Principal, ILS Law College payable at Pune. 4. If your name is in the merit list given below, you should carry the Demand Draft at the interview. 5. The amount of fees you pay is as follows: Category Amount (Rs) Within Maharashtra State (including physically handicapped category) 35,300/- Reserved Category - SC/ NT/ SBC/ OBC 31,855/- Reserved Category ST 0/- Outside Maharashtra State (including physically handicapped category) 37,300/- 6. If you do not hand over the Demand Draft, you will be deemed to have given up your claim for admission, and we will give admission to the candidate next in order of merit. 7. You shall pay any increase in fees, if increased during the academic year under any rules, orders or directions given by the State Government, Pune University, the EIRA or other authorities. 9. If you cancel your admission, we refund fees according to rules of the Pune University. In any case, there is no refund of fees if you cancel admission thirty days from your admission. Next phase of admissions If there are any seats in any stream or category, admissions will proceed as follows: Date (2014) Details 19 July 9th Merit List and time table for interview will be displayed on College notice board and website : www.ilslaw.edu at 4.00 pm 21 July Interviews and admission of students whose names appear in 9th Merit List according to the time table displayed. 7 July Lectures begin. Lectures Lectures of 1 st BALLB have commenced on 7 July 2014. Hostels You can avail of hostel facility on the campus. If you seek admission in the hostel, you can apply as soon as your admission into the college is complete. You may contact the rectors of the Boys or Girls Hostel for the purpose. Foreign Nationals, PIOs, NRIs 1. If you are a (i) Foreign National, (ii) Person of Indian Origin, or (iii) Child of Indian Workers in Gulf and South East Asia, your admissions will be processed by the Pune University. You may contact the International Students Centre of the Pune University. Visit www.unipune.ernet.in. 2. We do not have seats for NRI (Non Resident Indian) candidates.
