(NGAI) is to promote the growth and development of the Indiana Army and Air National Guard, foster friendship and cooperation among the Officers and Enlisted Personnel of the National Guard and provide services that will provide for a better quality of life for its members and their dependents. Embodied in our purpose are the following goals: Service to members. Promote legislative actions to benefit members of NGAI and the Indiana National Guard. Improve capabilities of the Indiana National Guard. Establish and maintain relations with other similar organizations. Promote and support National Security. Foster and improve the National Guard of Indiana and the National Guard of the United States as a component of the Armed Forces of the United States. Preserve and perpetuate the history and traditions of the National Guard of Indiana. Ensure the continuity and long life of Army and Air National Guard units within the State of Indiana. Promote and support National Guard Association of the United States (NGAUS) and The Enlisted Association of the United States (EANGUS) in their efforts to improve the life, education and welfare of the National Guard. To further the educational opportunities of Service Members and their families and to support educational, literary or scientific activities, including the granting of educational grants to annual and life members of the National Guard Association of Indiana and their dependents. GENERAL INFORMATION The Educational Grants offered by the National Guard Association of Indiana (NGAI) are open to all Indiana National Guard members and their dependents who meet the eligibility requirements. Eligibility Requirements: Must be a member of the Indiana National Guard or their dependent, or Must be a retired member of the Indiana National Guard or their dependent The Indiana National Guard member or retired member must be a member of NGAI in good standing. Good standing requires that dues are paid in full at the time the application is submitted. Must be attending an accredited university or institution School Time Frame: The 2015 grant covers a full school year from Fall of 2015 to Spring of 2016. Application Deadline: All applications must be received by the National Guard Association of Indiana by 15 March 2015. Applications received after that date will only be accepted if the mailed application is postmarked before midnight 15 March 2015. Applications may be dropped off at the office until 1600 hours on 15 March 2015; fax to 317-247-3575; or email to membership@ngai.net. If sending via email, please note the size of the file may pose a problem. Make sure you receive confirmation the email and attachments were received. Grant Recipient Information: Grant recipients will be announced at the NGAI Annual Conference at French Lick, Indiana on 25 April 2015. Recipient letters will be mailed the following week. Grant checks will be distributed at the 16 th Annual NGAI Car Show in Indianapolis, Indiana on 27 June 2015. Note: if there are extenuating circumstances regarding an incomplete application submission, include an explanation and the educational grant committee will review the circumstances.
