Foothill College Project Updates

Foothill College 105 Modernization of Learning Support Center, Biology, and General Classrooms This project will renovate Bldgs 5100, 5400, 5600, 5700 and 5800, including new finishes, HVAC, electrical and floor plan modifications to accommodate programmatic requirements. Project Completion: Project Budget: $11,965,944 Construction Bldgs 5100, 5600, 5700, 5800 will be complete by December 2013. Bldg 5400 will be complete by July 2014.

Foothill College 115 Fine Arts Scene Shop Phase 1 (Construction) Smithwick Emergency Generator Replacement Existing emergency generator is outdated, does not meet air quality standards, and is within the footprint of the new Scene Shop. It is being replaced with a larger code-compliant generator outside the future building s footprint. Project Completion: March 2016 Project Budget: $1,728,567 Design Phase 2 (Design) Construct a new Scene Shop facility adjacent to Smithwick Theater. Existing scene shop is cramped and outdated. The new facility will support both Smithwick and Lohman Theaters.

Foothill College 121 Library & ISC Renovate existing Buildings 3500 and 3600 to accommodate new programmatic requirements, replacement of HVAC and electrical systems, seismic upgrades and roofing repairs. Project Completion: May 2016 Project Budget: $7,018,185 Design

Foothill College 141 Exterior Painting and Bird Remediation Repaint buildings and install barriers to prevent bird damage. Project Completion: May 2014 Project Budget: $231,633 Design

Foothill College 144 Central Campus Site Improvements Campus wide renovation of landscaping and site features including: accessibility improvements to meet ADA code, lighting improvements, modernized irrigation systems, and updated site furnishings. Project Completion: September 2013 Project Budget: $9,912,692 Complete

Foothill College 162 Parking and Circulation (Phase 2) This project includes pedestrian, bicycle and vehicular circulation improvements throughout the outer campus. Specific areas of improvement under construction include: Phase 1 = Lot 2/3, Lot 4B, Bus Stop, PE Access Road Phase 2 = Lot 1, Lot 6, District Access Road, Lot 1C, vehicle & pedestrian bridge, and traffic signal on loop road at Lot 1 Project Completion: January 2014 Project Budget: $10,140,133 Phase 1 complete, Phase 2 is in construction

Foothill College 162 Parking and Circulation (Phase 2)

Foothill College 175 Repair and Upgrade Miscellaneous Projects Small project to upgrade and repair campus facilities and improve accessibility on Foothill Campus. Current Project 1601/1602 Lighting & Multimedia (in Construction) includes lighting and audio/visual equipment upgrades in two classrooms. Project Completion: December 2014 Project Budget: $500,000 Construction

De Anza College Project Updates

De Anza College 200C A9/PE6 HVAC Improvements The purpose of this project was to improve the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems for the offices in PE6 and classrooms at A9 building. The renovation was completed in October 2012, however when commissioning the building it was determined that further work may be required to provide better cooling and added ventilation with better central plant water flow. Further investigative actions are currently underway to determine what additional work may be necessary. Project Completion: October 2012 Project Budget: $975,510 Occupancy A9 Building PE6 Building

De Anza College 200C A9/PE6 HVAC Improvements A9 Classroom HVAC Louvers and Finish PE6 Ductwork Above Ceiling

De Anza College 200F Pool Tile and Plaster Replacement The ADA Shower Upgrades project renovates the ADA shower stalls in the PE6 building for the students and faculty to meet new ADA codes and standards. This new work was added by DSA to the Tile & Pool Plaster Replacement project. The showers will have new wall mounted seats, grab bars and partitions. The new Pool Scoreboard project is a voluntary upgrade and includes installation of a new LED scoreboard system, with analog timers on the wall of PE5. Project Completion: September 2013 Project Budget: $245,023 Construction The ADA shower upgrades and new pool scoreboard start in August 2013 and will be completed in September 2013. PE6 ADA Shower Upgrades Pool Scoreboard

De Anza College 201 A8 This project renovates the A8 building to accommodate the relocation of campus mail services, bookstore receiving & storage, ETS receiving/storage and Campus Police. The associated site work will provide a new ADA compliant accessible path to the new entry into the building, new electric cart charging and revised east entry. Project Completion: December 2014 Project Budget: $2,790,635 Design

De Anza College 202 Data Center The L7 Data Center will be renovated to the District s main data center. The renovation will upgrade the HVAC, provide a new permanent electrical feed to the building, provide new distribution of electrical within the building, replace the roof, abate hazardous material, provide back up power source along with a new UPS system, provide security upgrades to the Data Center, replace or repair the fire suppression system within the Data Center, replace interior and exterior lighting, and refresh the classroom and Data Center interiors, and repaint the exterior. Project Completion: September 2015 Project Budget: $1,363,717 Programming

De Anza College 216 Library The Library renovation project will address moving or anchoring shelving from former DSA project, a voluntary code structural upgrades for seismic safety, reworking interior spaces for increased programmatic efficiency and aesthetics, adding several group study rooms for enhanced student collaboration opportunities, and updating classrooms for multimedia/smart classroom abilities. Revised interior spaces include new circulation and reference desks, reference and periodical shelving stacks, main entrance modification to reduce wind-tunnel effect, addition of a copy room which will make the surrounding areas quieter, addition of a lounge area, and modifications to staff offices, break room, and conference rooms. Project will also refinish interior, exterior and north side patio and better ADA access to the main entry. Project Completion: July 2015 Project Budget: $9,259,430 Design

De Anza College 236E L2, L3 & L6 Roofing Repairs This project's scope of work includes removing and cleaning the roof tiles at Buildings L2, L3 & L6 at De Anza College and removing and replacing the waterproofing layer of the tile roofs. It also includes removing and replacing any damaged wood substrate, replacing the cement plaster at the parapets, and installing new weatherproof coatings on the exterior surfaces. The parapet caps and flashings are being replaced and repairs are being made to the flat roofs as necessary. Project Completion: September 2013 Project Budget: $704,490 Construction

De Anza College 239 Flint Parking Structure Repairs The Flint Parking Structure renovation project will include a voluntary structural seismic upgrade, concrete structure repair work, stucco and flashing work, light fixture replacement, upgrade of electrical service, installation of new emergency phone system, sealing and waterproofing work, modernization of elevators, reframing of stairways, replacement of signage and updating of striping for ADA compliance. This project is using the Lease-Leaseback delivery method with preconstruction to begin in August 2013 and construction to begin in early 2014. Project Completion: December 2014 Project Budget: $9,606,778 Design

De Anza College 245 Advanced Technology Center (ATC) The ATC modernization is addressing HVAC deficiencies, Telecom decentralization and a refresh of building spaces. New mechanical equipment is being installed. Removal and replacement of all air-handling units with duct cleaning and limited duct replacement and a new roof is being installed due to the extent of the work on the roof. The bathrooms are being renovated to meet current codes and receive new finishes, and the interior will receive new paint and floor finishes, as well as select lighting replacement. Full exterior lighting replacement and exterior painting is also being provided. This project is using the Lease-Leaseback Delivery method, with construction completing in December 2013. Project Completion: December 2013 Project Budget: $11,922,404 Construction

De Anza College 245 Advanced Technology Center (ATC)

De Anza College 251C Parking Lot A & B PV The Parking Lot A & B PV project installed elevated, single axis tracking photovoltaic arrays in parking lot's A & B and a student demonstration yard at the Kirsch Center with three arrays in various configurations. The project generates over 1 megawatt of power for the campus. 10 electric vehicle charging stations were installed in parking lot B fronting the L-5 building to allow students, faculty and staff the ability to charge their electric vehicles while on campus. A Data Acquisition System (DAS) will aggregate all of the production data from the various photovoltaic systems on the De Anza campus and display the results in the Campus Center, Kirsch Center, and Media & Learning Center. The DAS work will begin once Sun Power completes and submits the design. Project Completion: May 2013 Project Budget: $10,583,069 Operational Elevated, Single Axis Array Electric Vehicle Charging Station

De Anza College 274B Combined Site Improvements Phase II The 274B Combined Site Improvements Phase-II project includes revisions to ADA pathways, hardscape, lighting, planting and irrigation at several locations on campus. Specific areas include a revised pedestrian access at the Mary Avenue entrance which will be ADA compliant and include new planting and irrigation, revised hardscape and irrigation in the main quad near the Administration and Campus Center buildings, and a new ADA compliant pedestrian walkway with concrete seat walls between the PE and the S-2 and Planetarium buildings. Project Completion: September 2013 Project Budget: $2,039,557 Construction
