Grad Fee Collection $90.00 (Student Services at lunch) Hand in Cap & Gown Order Form *CASH OR MONEY ORDER ONLY* Personal checks WILL NOT be accepted Senior Banquet and Dance Organized by the Senior Prom Parent s Planning Committee Delta Hotel at 7:00pm Grad Luncheon, Grad Rehearsal and Gown Distribution Immediately following CFD#5 Lunch in the new gym, rehearsal in the old gym *MANDATORY for all grads No Rehearsal=No Grad Exercises* Graduation Mass Holy Trinity Parish at 7:00pm Graduation Exercices Conexus Arts Centre Theatre at 7:00 pm In order to participate in the graduation mass and exercises, a student attending a Regina Catholic High School must be deemed graduation eligible. Graduation eligibility will be defined as a student who has the potential to earn a minimum of 24 credit units, including Christian Ethics 30 and the compulsory requirements outlined by the Ministry of Education. A determination of a student s eligibility will be made around the first week of June (date forthcoming and is determined by CEC) and will be dependent upon a student having a passing grade in all required courses. Summer school will no longer be considered when determining graduation eligibility. **Students who complete grade 12 in semester one: It is your responsibility to be aware of all grad dates and deadlines. This information is available on the O Neill website.**
Valedictorian & Salutatorian Valedictorian is an academic title conferred upon the student who delivers the closing or farewell statement at the graduation ceremony to recognize the successful completion of their studies (called a valedictory). The Valedictorian will be a graduating student who has attended Archbishop M. C. O Neill Catholic High School for at least two full years and has attained the highest average (using all grade 11 year and grade 12 year subjects) at the end of March 2017. The Salutatorian's role as the first speaker at a graduation ceremony is to deliver the salutatory welcoming address. The Salutatorian will be a graduating student who has attended Archbishop M. C. O Neill Catholic High School for at least two full years and who has attained the second highest average (using all grade 11 year and grade 12 year subjects) at the end of March 2017. The Valedictorian and Salutatorian are required to carry a minimum class load of seven (7) classes. Students who have been suspended during their senior year will not be allowed to speak at graduation. Academic Dress for the Graduation Exercises The gowns and stoles are to be returned immediately following the conclusion of the grad exercises (there will not be time to take photos after the Grad Exercises; all photos must be taken before the Grad Exercises). Dress clothing is recommended under the gown. Gentlemen, please do not wear shorts, white gym socks, flip flops, sandals or sneakers. Dress pants, shirt & tie and dress shoes for the guys. A regular length dress, skirt and a top or dress pants and dress shoes for the girls - no flip flops or sandals. Do not wear long dresses at this time. **Anyone arriving without their gown will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony. Grad Fee Collection March 28, 29 and 30 in Student Services at lunch only Cash or Money Order ONLY No personal cheques will be accepted. General Grad Fee of $90.00 includes: cap & gown rental, rental fees for the Conexus Arts Centre, program & certificate printing, certificate folders, decorations, grad luncheon, audio-visual rentals & expenses, etc.
Grad Luncheon, Rehearsal & Gown Distribution Monday, June 26, 2017 A luncheon for all grads is followed by a compulsory rehearsal. The rehearsal will take place in the old gym. This rehearsal is absolutely essential. Students who do not attend the rehearsal will not be allowed to participate in the Graduation Exercises. Grad gowns will be distributed at the conclusion of the rehearsal. The rehearsal will conclude by 3:00pm. Graduation Mass Tuesday, June 27, 2017 Holy Trinity Parish at 7:00pm Grads wear their gown to mass (No cap or stole). Seating is unassigned. Grads sit with their families. Graduation Exercises Wednesday, June 28, 2017 Grads should be at the Conexus Arts Centre by 6:15pm. Grads wear gown, stole, cap and tassel (tassel hanging on the right side of the cap). Do not bring personal items that you will have to carry. Storage is not available during the ceremony. Main doors open to the public at 6:30pm. Seats are available on a first come basis. Front rows are reserved for special guests and dignitaries. Graduation Exercises will begin at 7:00pm. Estimated completion time is 9:00pm. **Anyone arriving without their gown will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony. **Grad gowns must be returned immediately following the ceremonies on stage left. **Costs for gowns not returned will be the responsibility of the student ($125).
