LifeLong Learning Programme Leonardo Da Vinci & Erasmus SMP MOBILITY PROJECTS Calabria- Italy and St. Julian s - Malta Project Model European Vocational Training Exchange & Placement Programmes

Information for participants of the mobility project in Nicotera Italy- St. Julian s Malta- Host Organization: Giovani per l Europa Contact person: Dott. Comerci Ferdinando Tel./ Fax: 0039 (0) 963 82105 Mobil: +39 338 5671925 E-mail: ferdinando@giovaniperleuropa.org Skype: ferdinando.comerci Home page : http://www.giovaniperleuropa.org SHORT DESCRIPTION OF GIOVANI PER L EUROPA Giovani per l Europa, an Italian organization based in Nicotera, south of Italy and with a subsidiary in Malta is specialized in European Internships programmes. In the framework of the Leonardo Da Vinci, Erasmus SMP and Lifelong Learning Programme. Our Internship department specializes in monitoring and organizing work experience and youth mobility projects, placing students, young graduates and young workers from all over the E.U. in corresponding companies on internships. The key to Giovani per l Europa success lies in the quality and professionalism of our Staff. Our activities are carried out by a qualified management team of experts with extensive experience in European projects. Our activities are backed up by the active participation of an international network of organizations. In the past few years, Giovani per l Europa has gained a great deal of experience as hosting/sending partner to many European Organizations, Schools, University and Enterprise. Realisation of the Project Accommodation: The participants will be accommodated in shared apartments/houses on a self-catering basis. They will be required to share the accommodation with other members of the group. Most of the apartments are in a tranquil area near to the centre of town. There are usually 2-4 rooms in the apartment (single / double rooms). The apartments consist in large bedrooms with kitchen, fridge and bathroom. The participants will be able to cook for themselves.

You will be given further information about the apartments before the arrival date. Catering possibilities: If contractually agreed, participants will be given an allowance to buy meals for themselves. Local Travel: Giovani per l Europa will order a minibus for the transport of participants from the airport to their accommodation. The same procedure will apply for the participants departure. We will provide assistance with arranging travel passes for public transportation. Italian / English Language Course and Socio-Cultural Preparation: The language course was organised to take account of the weaknesses of the beneficiaries in order to prepare them before the commencement of the placement. We believe that interactive language courses are of great benefit to the candidates, because they received a total of fifteen hours per week (three a day) study in an environment, centred in the native language. The candidates were completely immersed in the language and culture of the host country and also enjoyed cultural visits. This method of learning encourages and provides external stimulation outside classtime. Besides the daily four hours within the class, the candidates extended through their own motivation and willingness to develop their linguistic skills in real-life situations. This facilitated and developed their confidence and linguistic ability prior to beginning their placement. Work Placements: Before the beginning of the practical work placement for the beneficiary in Italy / Malta, Giovani per l Europa arranged a meeting between the Hosting Company tutor, the beneficiary and Giovani per l Europa tutor in order to: Introduce the beneficiary to the new staff and the new working environment in which he/she will be placed; structure a definitive training plan, identifying a personal path to develop all the competences. Give information to the tutor to fill the final evaluation "Trainee assessment form". The candidates were placed in a working environment which best suited the needs of the individual, and facilitated the acquisition of new professional skills specified in terms of knowledge, ability and professionalism. Giovani per l Europa looked for each work placement according to the specifications of every candidate and his/her cultural and professional profile. If necessary, Giovani per l Europa will arrange work placements to be changed in order to better suit the needs and wishes of each participant.

Note: The work-placements in Italy will be in Reggio Calabria, city with an important university. For Malta, however, the majority of placements will be in St. Julian's and Valletta. The fulfilment of the project s objectives, and the participants professional and cultural experiences are discussed and evaluated. The participants are also given instructions for their departure the next day. Giovani per l Europa has frequent contact with the responsible persons in all institutions, where the participants are placed.
